the guy who got Elon and Grimes to hook up, destroying Twitter and proceeding to blow up the United States

  • I guess install it and see!

  • first read as lucid screaming

  • lol. The comment on the video that appears to read "Great video!" is actually an ASCII-smuggling example that works on Gemini

  • AT is fashtech. This needs a proper writeup I realise, but it ticks too many boxes in theory and practice. I don't welcome this style of openwashing, where it's COMPLETELY OPEN except in all practice. Like, you could say the same about Urbit.

  • Various characters that aren't ASCII but are shaped the same, or sneaking in text encoded in flag emojis, stuff like that.

  • looks good!

i would LOVE them to get an actual designer though. If ever a laptop looked like open source ...

  • there's only one YouTube channel everyone should be following

  • there's a writeup to do of Bluesky and AT-protocol as fashtech, start from this one https://azhdarchid.com/delusions-of-a-protocol/

there's more detail to add for the explicit case for atproto as fashtech (including the bit where they're increasingly mask-off rationalists, coiners, neoreactionaries and transphobes), but yelling about decentralisation while keeping a pile of obscured but load-bearing points of central control is a good tell

  • as part of Syllable it was absolutely an interesting nerd project "yeah let's write a browser!!"

then fashtech funding knocked on the door, Kling put on his red baseball cap and took ladybird out on the road

  • author here - there is of course a good chance Disney will want to squash them like a bug.

  • Baldur Bjarnason (who hates AI slop) has posited precisely this:

My current theory is that the main difference between open source and closed source when it comes to the adoption of “AI” tools is that open source projects generally have to ship working code, whereas closed source only needs to ship code that runs.

  • I asked Github Copilot and it added import wreak to .NET, so we'll get back to you.

  • that being the specific model when we started it! "web3 is going great but it's AI"

molly approved and said it saved people nagging her to start one
