  • Millennial here. I like not being a public nuisance and having functional lungs, a liver, and what little of my mental faculties I haven't lost to mental illness, so no I don't partake

  • Then again she's also a kook who thinks medical organ donation programs are a front for "organ harvesting", so not much intellectual capacity for sarcasm anyway I suspect

  • Unfortunately, no, she is 100% serious and has doubled down in the replies

  • I don't see why not. Cats can easily learn how to communicate using those voice buttons, so if the subway system has voice announcements for each "station", like this dude did, a cat could absolutely be trained (heh) to associate the name of the station with whatever area that station is in.

Dogs on the Moscow Metro already do this, and there have even been sporadic reports of pigeons riding the NYC subway and getting off exactly where they want to.

  • It's hard to see from the angle the photo was taken at, but if you look closely you'll notice the "lower" layer is actually a flyover on top of a third layer at street level

  • Except Chongqing has an excellent public transport network that's deeply integrated into the city

  • Embarrassed? My dude, you should be angry. I'm sure your dad's coming from a good place but he's still running roughshod over your agency and free will by doing this. This is pretty close to abject disrespect of your choices (and possibly hers).

You need to nip this in the bud and make it clear you won't tolerate being pushed around like this. Time to show some of that steel spine, buddy.

  • A walkable city means everything, including the grocery store, is a conveniently walkable distance away, which would automatically make it bikeable, too. An hour's walk to the grocery store does not a walkable city make.

  • Not to mention, “working towards legal citizenship” very strongly implies he was never a legal citizen before, or else why wouldn’t it say something like he was working toward ‘regaining’ citizenship, or mention that he ‘lost’ citizenship?

You know there are hundreds of thousands of permanent residents in the US who are not legal citizens but may or may not be working towards said legal citizenship, right? "Legal immigrant" doesn't automatically translate to "citizen".

  • It says right there in the article that he "grew up in South Carolina". Another source says his visa papers were taken away years ago and he's been trying to get them back ever since -- hence the "working towards legal citizenship"

  • The Israelis are in line for that one currently.

  • Just be openly scornful of it and people who use it

  • It's an old Hindi song jokingly calling someone a donkey

  • Get this AI slop out of here

  • Clearly not lmao

  • I got banned from Reddit because I was mean to Israel

  • Your "friend", if they exist, is either a fucking moron and or they're fucking with you. People everywhere in the country like having toilets and indoor plumbing, sometimes they just can't afford them because the government has their heads up their own asses

  • I tried to install Brave and it almost nuked my PC. Completely jammed up. I uninstalled it immediately.

  • you can just hop into a mobocab which is on standby and get moving

The train would: 1. Rarely be there in the moment somebody actually needs it 2. Almost always be empty.

The mobocabs won't actually be there when someone needs them, either. They're on rails. They're not going to just be hanging out somewhere in the middle of the line so they can show up in a couple of minutes, they'll be on standby at a trainshed on either end of the line. It's going to take like 30 minutes for one to arrive -- at that point you might as well just have a tram that comes every 30 minutes or so
