  • Probably shouldn't use software that will remotely log and upload things that you store to your keyboard. Should have a policy against that.

  • No, password managers are best practice.

  • Foss code and client side encryption is fine.

  • Wire is better than those imho

  • Nah, it senda tons of unencrypted data, and you literally can't turn it off

  • I use Wire. Its the best option right now. Better than SimpleX, Signal, and Matrix for many reasons

  • I don't think Russians actually thought that. Its just that if they publicly pointed out the issues with Telegram and publicly suggested better alternatives, bad things would happen to them.

  • Why do you think they (and Signal) require phone numbers?

  • If you're upset, just ask them for the source. If they don't respond, sue.

In any case, we're all going to get the source and we'll all benefit from this.

  • I don't think its a dox unless you prepare a dossier. Just learning someone's PII isn't doxing them

  • For its part, Meta cautions users against being glassholes in its privacy policy

    Lol

  • That's a great school project

  • When can i haz drone swarm?

  • Meta glass, not Google glass? What did I miss?

  • If its forked from a Foss project then its necessarily a Foss project. That's why we use Foss licenses.

  • It doesn't matter what the license chatgpt spat out says. If they forked from a Foss base repo, then all of the code they make will be FOSS too. This is great.

  • Don't use your real name, obviously.

  • Use codeberg. Or you could self host it and just not provide contact info.
