  • I'm done with Asda.

    • Useless apps that make things more and more difficult to do (substitution disabling).
    • Face recognition scanning in-store.
    • Useless IT that means American Express doesn't work every other time I try to use it
    • the substitutions so insane that half your delivery is returned.
    • Websites so stuffed with trackers you can't use it on Firefox.
    • repeated demand for spot-checks making the scan job you did pointless. You might as well have put it though a till that are never open. Had only one spot check with Tesco ever.

And those are only the things I can think of offhand six months after I deleted their bullshit.

    Enough. Fvck Asda.

  • Hasn't Proton just pulled out from Switzerland? The move stems from growing legal uncertainty around changes to Switzerland’s surveillance law.

  • Does Google have an equivalent with Android?

  • When buying isn't owning ..

  • There was a need to apologise; I was very wrong in context. So there! 😜 (I don't see the point in maintaining a position which is entirely shown to be fatally flawed.)

Thank-you for pointing to Perplexica. When I subscribed (for a year), Perplexity - unlike ChatGPT -was alone in giving references so I could avoid citing rubbish by checking unless I knew them; now they all cite. I won't be resubscribing and to have you refer this is really helpful. 😁

    Thank-you.

  • Very fair point. I'm embarrassed. Sorry.

  • It's not just a pricing issue. It's an ownership issue.

Too many of the things we buy are not ours.

Yesterday I saw the article about VW cars which need a subscription to use the built-in capabilities. The car you bought doesn't belong to you.

  • It's late in the day. Perplexity Set itself up as a search engine with AI. Don't know whose index they use.

I rarely use a search engine anymore directly. I used to use Startpage which is/was a proxy for Google. And everybody knows how useful Google's results are these days.

So I use Perplexity for search.

  • I'm an egalitarian. I believe women and women are, and should be treated, equal(ly).

The clue is in the name feminist. Feminism is about equality in the same way an advocate of masculinism is an advocate of equality.

  • Firms apparently launching anti ANPR face film.

  • \

  • SMDH in agreement. 😳

  • I felt sure that Stalin Starmer was going to nationalise water and other stuff. Or have we had an odd number of u-turns in the year he's been fucking it up for our greater good?

Giving ownership of your basic needs to a foreign party. What Could Possibly Go Wrong? It's not like foreign ownership of our electricity suppliers could be used to subsidise their domestic customers. Oh .. wait ..

  • Fair comment.

IANA developer at all. Mostly just keeping records of my dotfiles and odd bits I have playing with., and the experiments I try to run using branches. Sometimes I need a visual representation of the commits and hashes to make it easier to understand what I'm doing.

    git is my only nemesis.

  • Strange that there's no blue hair people here defending her.

  • Google had a leak. They found a way to make your photos more social,

  • Off topic: day-after-day with these kinds of posts and especially the replies, I need Reddit less and less. That's a very good thing.
