  • I agree that the federal government shouldn't be bailing out businesses with exploitative practices, which it sounds like the Pennsylvania Mushroom industry is. What I wanted to add, however, is that growing mushrooms is a highly-specialized endeavour (my friend grows them in his basement) and it would not be quick or easy for another business to fill the gap

  • Even without the new EU regulations on this, I bet VW was already planning on doing this. The widespread backlash to the non-illuminated capacitive touch controls on the newest Golf GTIs/Rs was significant. I wouldn't have bought one of those, and a Golf R is basically my dream car.

  • Just chiming in to include that hosting a modded Minecraft server is relatively easy as well. You use a modded version like Fabric and put the mods in the mods folder in the MC directory on your host. Users have the same mods in their mods folder and it just works normally. Some mods are server-side only

  • I agree with you that that's likely his strategy, but I think the 2024 election results show it wasn't Midwestern centrist democrats who didn't turn out for Kamala, so I wonder how effective this play even would be. But yeah, Newsom has always been an out-of-touch elite, so I'm not surprised by this latest development
