Because it's 80% higher than usual. Most people tend to parse that as 180% of the baseline already. It's just one of the options that's commonly used, and I've never had any problems with it personally.

De laatste zin vat het goed samen denk ik. We kunnen nooit weten of een persoon, zijnde een (ex-)minister-president danwel een willekeurige persoon op straat, homoseksueel is of niet. Mocht de claim gemaakt worden dat Jetten de eerste is, punt uit, kan later altijd nog iets uitkomen over een eerdere minpres wat die claims tenniet doet.

Mijn kennis over dit onderwerp is redelijk oppervlakkig, maar voor grotere populaties is de benodigde steekproef populatie verrassend klein: volgens een online rekenmachine heb je voor 18 miljoen personen met een betrouwbaarheidsinterval van 99% en een foutmarge van 2.5% slechts een maximum van 4160 metingen (personen) nodig.
