  • EVERYTHING needs attention. The whole country is fucked in so many ways!

From this to fucking heatwave induced forest fires that are asphyxiating us due to global warming, to how we're complicit in providing funding, weapons, ammo and equipment for a fucking genocide, to how our sovereignty is threatened by some asshole in the U.S. to the housing crisis and food insecurity due to ridiculous inflation and so on and so on.

I fucking hate that we elected this party, AGAIN, to lead our country, with some establishment bean counter at the helm. And to think that if it hadn't been for Trump, we would've had it even worse with a Conservative government! How are people so fucking stupid!

This literally feels like the movie Don't Look Up. Like it's obvious we need to do something but nobody's doing anything only to make a handful of rich assholes happy.

    I'm so fed up.

  • But hey, we gotta build that pipeline from Alberta to Québec to increase oil production and sell to Europe, who is already planning on reducing their oil dependency.

EDIT: /S just in case it wasn't obvious.

  • So fucking do something instead of just condemning things.

  • I actually like that Gnome has less configurable things. You get the same desktop experience across the board on every PC. If only that desktop experience didn't suck and we didn't have to use a ton of extensions to make it usable.

That's why I love Gnome 2. It was the sweet spot.

  • It's actually made on site. All you need is water and electricity. There was a pilot program in Québec city for the Toyota Mirai hydrogen fuel cell car and it was generated right on site.

  • LoL! Good point

  • The best answer is always Ubuntu (Mint or Kubuntu). They just work. And they're and they're récent enough without running into problems. They have high compatibility and they have a lot of quality of life improvements.

  • That's pretty neat, but I don't see how that's useful.

  • Why is hydrogen a step back?

  • Not an SUV or a crossover. I want a compact car like a Civic or a Corolla. Like a VW e-Golf, or the Ford Focus EV, but that's as affordable as a standard compact car with a good range.

Hydrogen fuel cells would be a great alternative to electric batteries, and you can refuel in minutes. Or if you're worried about the hydrogen, how about solid state batteries that allow fast charging to 80% in minutes and are much safer? What's the hold up? Are they just trying to get rid of their existing battery stock?

  • I just want an electric version of a Honda fit...

  • Nah... HBC would've died anyway. They just didn't have any vision.

  • What are the symptoms you're getting?

  • I'm not misunderstanding anything. Trans rights are just as important as the environment and everything else.

The only reason they're being discussed at all is because of the conservatives who want to take them away in the first place. Just like they want to keep exploiting resources that cause global warming and pollute our drinking water. Just like they want to fuck the little guy over in favor of the corporations.

We have to fight against all of it.

  • It matters to these trans kids. It matters to trans people. Just because it doesn't matter to you, doesn't mean it's not an important issue to someone else. Especially now when they're facing so much hatred and discrimination.

  • Maybe it's in preparation for Putin's meeting with Trump.

  • So we're supposed to cater to bigots now to get their votes ?

  • So the Conservatives were doing identity politics, not the NDP.

The NDP are well aware of the wealth gap and the class divide. They've been fighting for not only eliminating the gaps in the rights and freedoms of certain groups, as it should, but also fighting to make sure the wealthiest Canadians pay their fair share. That companies that profited from the pandemic pay a windfall tax, that we tackle the housing crisis with new ideas, and they introduced bills to improve on the coverage of healthcare. But these ideas were not popular with the Liberals or especially the Conservatives. They only managed to pass a couple by making compromises with the Liberals since they were a minority government.

  • I just replied to acargitz in this same comment thread. Please go read my comment. It also answers yours at the same time.
