I don't know about other provinces, but for Alberta, Québec and Ontario, things are pretty fucking shitty right now in terms of government.
The CAQ has the lowest approval rating of all provincial governments for a reason. This is a party of "making our business friends rich and fuck everyone else". People here can't wait for the next election. The latest bill 2 is going to wreck our healthcare services for years to come. People might actually die over this. It's insane.
I might be pessimistic, but I bet a lot of the alt-right scum is going to see this as another means to get training for guns and other things, like they're already doing with the army.
Hahahahahahaha yeah! I bought my first distro too in 2000, and it was also Mandrake. Yeah I fucked up a few times but was quickly up and running. I had just started my operating systems class in college where they taught us Linux with Red Hat so I was able to pick up quickly. By the end of the semester I was helping the class along with the teacher lol.
My parent told me of a family they knew who lived on a farm in their village. All of them were outright monsters. There were only brothers in that family. No daughters. They had barn cats and when they had kittens, they'd crush their skulls in their hands for fun. They loved torturing animals. They were pysically big and they imposed themselves on everyone and everyone was scared shitless of these dudes. One ended up in jail for killing someone early on for some banal reason, and another became a Hell's Angel motorcycle gang hitman essentially.
In a different kind of pure evil, I've always been affraid of Dennis in It's Always Sunny in Philadephia. He really scares me. No joke. The character is a real psychopath. I've met a few people like this in real life. They were the rich successful types. They gave me the fucking creeps. Manipulative, controlling, always working to get what the want and always have the advantage to have power over others.
To be clear, my desktop works fine on Windows 11. But the general ratio of cool new features to egregious bullshit is low. I do not want to talk to my computer. I do not want to use OneDrive. I’m sure as hell not going to use Recall. I am tired of Windows trying to get me to use Edge, Edge trying to get me to use Bing, and everything trying to get me to use Copilot. I paid for an Office 365 subscription so I could edit Excel files. Then Office 365 turned into Microsoft 365 Copilot, and I tried to use it to open a Word document and it didn’t know how.
