  • I have had ONLY NVidia cards since my first ever own PC in 2000 when I started college.

I've used Mandrake Linux for a while then switched to Ubuntu when it came out in 2004 and have used that ever since.

I've NEVER encountered any problems whatsoever. In fact, it made using an NVidia card easier because of its built-in third party driver installation tool that takes care of everything.

If something doesn't work, it's very probable that it's because the user messed around with something and caused it to happen.

  • This reflects exactly the kind of government we have the world over.

Some rich establishment elites who deceive their country's working class population with empty promises and simply don't listen to them at all. In fact it seems they work against the working class.

  • You can call your MP and also the ministry of foreign affairs to give them a piece of your mind.

I suggest you all do it this week. I don't think Gazans can survive much longer

  • Just use Ubuntu/Kubuntu/Mint if you want a hassle free, secure, and stable Linux distro that supports everything and works out of the box.

Don't use those gaming centric distros like Bazzite. It's not worth it. Don't use Arch or other bleeding edge distros unless you want to keep troubleshooting your system because of problems or vulnerabilities.

Take it from me. I've been using Linux since 2001 and Ubuntu based distros have always been the best choice for a secure stable OS.

  • And Carney's government deceives yet again. Keeping up with the conservatives' plans.

  • Oh shit! A reply from the big man himself! It's an honour. :)

I completely understand. It's best to nip any genocide apologist comment or users right in the bud. There's no room for that shit.

It's just that in this case, I thought AOC might have voted against this bill because there were other parts of it that she staunchly disagreed with that was a big important issue so she had no choice. But, then later on she went on X and spoke about being in favour of providing ammunition for the Israeli Iron dome so that Israel can defend itself from rocket attacks. She basically claimed that this was to reduce further deaths in this conflict.

I can understand the logic, but frankly, Israel needs to be in a defenseless position so it can stop attacking everyone else in the region, or face real dangerous consequences. It's a deterrent for them to stop their attacks.

  • That counts as genocide apologism????

It's a bit much. This kind of moderation doesn't even give any chance for discussions. The comment didn't get down voted in the negative and other users have made other comments to talk about it and made really good points.

I understand you don't want any genocide apologists in your community, which is good, but c'mon. Let people have some doubts.

  • The air is still going to be much easier to breathe after people switch to ebikes. The smell of the scooters and motorcycles is pretty intense.

  • I simply highlighted what AOC said, as OP highlighted himself in their post. Might as well delete the post in that case. Sheesh.

And go take a look at my post/comment history. You'll soon find out that I staunchly support Gaza and Palestine and am very critical of Israel.

  • You know what? I totally share your feelings towards Canadian politics. It's god damn disheartening. For decades now I feel like our voices are not really heard. Parties make promises during election time and fuck us over as soon as they're in power. The only time we've ever gained anything is when the NDP actually had some leverage in a minority government. And we don't give the Greens enough support.

But this time, if your MP is not liberal, you should still call your MP and even call Carney's. Let them know that what's happening in Gaza is unacceptable and that we can't just stand aside and let it happen.

As bleak as it all is, let's just try this one time. It's 5 minutes. It's not that big an effort.

  • Yeah, I agree. Not having any defensive capabilities against nations that they attacked first is a good deterrent against them attacking everyone around them.

Also, why was my comment removed? I thought it was a good discussion point.

  • Instead of being so pessimistic, give them a call anyway.

Otherwise we're not going to get anything done with that attitude. In fact, it's exactly because of that attitude that we're in the state we're in. Because of lack of public participation in politics.

  • What's BDS?

  • Anywhere else, homes DO cost more. WAY more.

My parents bought their house, brand new, on paper, in a suburban part of Montreal for 60k which was about the same amount as their yearly gross pay combined working as financial advisors in a local financial institution.

The same house today actually costs between 450-500k. The pay for that same position? 40k/person for the same amount of experience they had back then. That would make it about 80k/year. So the same house costs nearly 6 times the combined wages for that same position. SIX TIMES! And it's not even is a nice place. It's far from everything, has little public transportation options, and is surrounded by oil refineries.

I don't know what small town you bought your house in, but it doesn't reflect the reality that the vast majority of Canadians face.

  • Because there isn't a shortage of cars, and cars aren't necessary to live. However, housing is. Having a shelter to live in is a basic human need. It shouldn't be hoarded by rich elite few who own so much they basically control the whole fucking market.

If housing is limited and is a living necessity, it should totally be regulated.

Capitalism is an inhumane system that glorifies profit and undervalues human life and human rights. In order for capitalism to succeed, it needs cheap labour, it needs wage slaves, or even better, actual slaves. If capitalism had any provisions for social justice, equality, equity, respect of human rights and human life, it wouldn't even be viable.

  • At least you had one. It's probably worth half a mil today and out of most people's reach.

  • Homeless shelters are at full capacity, and food banks can't keep up. You have a twisted perspective through your conservative brainwashed religious head.

  • What a twisted view of the world. You're completely mental.
