  • Right???

That's why I buy a lot of used stuff now or repair the ones I got.

Repair shops will be like "a new one'll cost less" and I'm like "don't care, fix it."

I really hope my early 2000's Sony Bravia 720p tiny ass TV never dies on me. It's a dumb TV but has all the connections for retro gaming consoles.

  • When will people learn to never buy smart devices.

  • Who controls the past now, controls the future.

Who controls the present now, controls the past.

  • Awesomesauce! Thank you!

  • Plus I like how they have the Homebrew packaging system to install pretty much anything you need.

Windows has something similar with chocolatey but it's just not as complete. It's not *nix apps either.

  • The world is so fucked up. I feel just so fucking crushed by the weight of despair from what's happening in the world.

Why are people so fucking cruel?

  • That plus probably being exposed to covid. Apparently it has really bad effects on the brain and ability to learn.

  • I'd reverse Windows and Mac. Mac is sleek, smooth, pleasant, well integrated, solid, stable, and has a good shell. They have great machines with great specs and are well built. They also take some learning to become efficient with.

Windows on the other hand, is cheap, buggy, ugly, unstable, comes pre-packaged with flashy junk, breaks easily, any child can use it and then break it.

  • What's the fork?

  • That said, the estimates from researchers, energy experts and environmental organizations in Canada and beyond are all in the billions — as high as $30 billion and as low as $3 billion, depending on the year.

Fucking hell. All that money could be used to help house and feed people in need in Canada, and then some! But no! We have to keep tossing money to fuel the massive forest fire that's become our country.

People should be revolting over this.

  • As soon as the NDP were removed, the Liberals went on full conservative mode and simply stop trying, just to "demonstrate" that it's not feasible.

Had the NDP given any leverage, this wouldn't have happened. They would've pushed for it to work and the Liberals would've found a way.

  • No! That's the thing! I'm not trolling you.

My girlfriend wanted to see Bruce Springsteen last year and this is what happened. (Sorry it's in French, please use Google Translate)

  • I don't expect China nor the Chinese people to tell the truth either. You wouldn't want your social score to drop or end up in jail or forced labor.

  • You must be trolling.

Many artists have issues with the ticketing services and recognize there is a predatory monopoly. Even Taylor Swift has a problem with it.

And there are no normal jobs that pay enough to afford a regular music concert ticket at over 500$. Heck, I make 6 figures and couldn't afford that with the current cost of living.

  • Yeah but whose fault is that? People chose this. China doesn't have a choice.

  • Or how about we break up the monopoly for the event tickets business and make the outrageous dynamic pricing tactic illegal so we can finally afford to go see live events at decent prices.

  • The hostages are probably dead, yes. It was never about them anyway.

  • But Hamas! The hostages!

    /S

  • Can't afford any freakin thing, really.

I want to go see a live show to encourage an artist directly? It costs an arm and a leg in fees because one company owns all the show ticket offices in all the venues.
