Younger generation typically has no concern for data privacy and how much data they're being milked of. There will be a time when they wish they listened.
I didn't read your entire post (sorry it was long 😅) but have you heard of lorawan? It's a low powered long distance mesh network technology. I believe that's what the helium project uses.
Have the lifetime since like 2012, every time a post like this surfaces I wonder if the contents of it are finally going to force my hand to use jellyfin instead
