  • This sounds like an incredibly dumb argument, but I'm trying to understand their reasoning. Are they admitting that this proposed legislature is discriminating black voters, but say it's ok because otherwise it would be discrimination against white voters? Or are they claiming it's not discriminatory at all? In the former case, wouldn't there need to be some law that says discrimination against whites is worse than discrimination against blacks?

  • It's like this in pretty much all of continental Europe afaik. You have to accept being filmed in public simply due to the fact that you're in public, for example, if a documentary about your city is being filmed and you walk into it, or the news, etc. However, it's not allowed to film someone specifically or take their picture without their consent, as in the restaurant example in the OP.

    I know it's over a million by most reasonable estimates, so I said millions. I should not because it's indeed not at least 2 million.   • The key is state run. Obviously, US media has way more reach and is indeed dominating the "narrative" globally, but it's (for the most part) not propaganda, because it's not state run. People just like that stuff, I mostly hate it as well, but that's how the world is.
