  • if I still downloaded directly to my local drive, I'd use utorrent BUT only the 2.2.1 version. it's been at least 4 years since I've done that due to a lack of having a functional laptop so I've been out of downloading stuff that way for years, but even then I knew that modern utorrent was bad. I actually stopped using any new version once bittorrent bought it.

    1. iphones are the first recognized "smartphone".
    2. apple is an american company.
    3. apple has a massive fanbase that is completely dedicated to apple and all their products.

i'm not sure what the global usage of apple products is, but i think here it's probably a lot higher than in other places. throw in the fact that there's only one device capable of (legally) running apple's mobile software, and there you have it.

also, their advertising didn't hurt either. no one on the android side had the kind of advertising they did until maybe 6 or 7 years later and by that time you were probably already well established in the iphone ecosystem.

  • I believe this person said (and I'm not sure if I'm correct because this person was absolutely inconsolable) that one was their father's daughter and their (the daughter's) son. I will probably know more through the grapevine next week.

  • I work with someone who was related to two of the victims. they were absolutely inconsolable yesterday when the news got out.

  • especially if you don't have an iphone. I have seen so many accessories and apps that were made for use on iphones which would also be useful for android devices as well. my transplant clinic has a patient portal that has an app for iphones but nothing for android so you have to use their website.

  • in other words, it's a stimulus check, a thing that he can put his name on to prevent (and completely fail in doing so) the economic recession that would be caused by his stupid policies making the price of everything go up.

  • if I remember my geography correctly cullman county is north of jefferson county (birmingham) on I 65. I've got family from birmingham, so to me it's simply amazing that a rural white county decided to indict their white police force and recommend to completely disband it because of the corruption.

if a bunch of white people can do that with no black people involved in any way on either side, that police force must have been doing some seriously heinous shit.

  • she's asking for republicans of this iteration of the republican party, the one that embraces nationalism, religious bigotry, and a cult like behavior which has as a rote answer of READ THE CONSTITUTION to not only have actually read the constitution taken their paths of office seriously, and defy their cult leader.

if there was any integrity to those people at all, you wouldn't be seeing absolutely fucking stupid messaging bills like renaming dulles airport after trump, making trump's birthday a federal holiday, putting trump's face on mt. rushmore, taking over greenland and calling it red white and blue land in the house and all of trump's cabinet noms get confirmed in the senate. some of which you voted AYE for murkowski.

so take this warm mug of SHUT THE FUCK UP and go sit in the corner hypocrite.

  • there are a bunch of apps that I downloaded from amazon that were paid AND also were apps they were giving away for free. so what are they going to do about maintaining their functionality, because unless they do something the only other alternative that I see are on the high seas.

  • no. the entire personality of a trump supporter is donald trump. cutting yourself off from them at this point is not about politics as far as I'm concerned. it's about morals. these people have shown, as many as two times, that they are cool and support every thing he does and says. that's a moral issue. and cutting out the people who have the same morality as trump is not a you problem.

  • oh look, the inevitable conclusion of what happens when you crave power for power's sake so much that you sell your soul to appeal only to the true believers that your entire political career is 100% dependent on their votes even though you know they're fucking insane and get ultraviolent at the barest perception of being slighted or inconvenienced.

  • I notice that you conveniently left out the thing that I said at the very end, LIKE THE POD SAVE PEOPLE.

and if you bother to listen to the mtn you'd know that just because they're white and male doesn't make them white male lib bros. there are lots of podcasters out there who are also white and male and liberal absolutely do not act and talk like how they do on crooked media.

  • "the left" doesn't need a dude bro podcast. that market does not exist.

what "the left" needs are more voices that are not mouthpieces for the consultant class or the white male lib bros like the pod save people.

the meidas touch podcast just beat out rogan as the top political podcast. how about more pods like that.

  • the offline gps app that I use and absolutely love I initially pirated for my iphone 3, then for my samsung galaxy vibrant and then actually bought and bought extras. I love this app.

then a few years ago they offered more features that I found useful but put them behind a subscription instead of buying them as a premium option as before and I don't like that. I still get to keep the options I bought, but any future add-ons forces me to subscribe and I'm not doing that.

honestly it might push me to see if it's possible to to pirate an app I already paid for to get any new features I may find useful.

  • it's a message from god that he is displeased with us.

(hey turnabout is fair play. if hurricanes and tornadoes are punishment for gays, porn, and sodomy this earthquake is punishment for electing the antichrist.)

  • domestically you can get a base 2025 chevy ev blazer for around $27k while the ev rebate lasts. 300+ mile range with decent fast charging. I was really looking forward to getting one in the next 2-3 years but then dondi mcshytegibbon got elected and is killing not just the ev tax credit but the grant money to build out a dc fast charging infrastructure too. I might have to look at the plugin hybrid market instead when I really want to go fully electric.

  • I wouldn't get a tesla at any price because I'm now stuck in a tesla ecosystem just like apple users are by and large stuck in the apple ecosystem.

  • I can't believe I'm saying this but I miss john boehner. he was sane.

  • that's all fine and dandy. but there's an important question I've only seen one person bring up.

who's going to enforce the order? because this sounds very much like andrew jackson saying after worcester v georgia chief justice john marshall "has his ruling. let him enforce it", and we get the trail if tears.
