This is SO true. I'm hiring for a software engineer position right now. We've been looking for MONTHS. Recently, we've finally managed to fill the first head.
So many applicants just can't even code. My company is not a place where you learn how to code, it's a place where you learn all the stuff which you didn't think you'd have to do as a software engineer.
F-Droid's big "thing" is reproducible builds. You could theoretically post any artifact to GitHub, so I have to trust that every update the artifact you built matches the source code. F-Droid allows me to know that the artifact matches the source code.
Unless of course you've implemented your own reproducible build system.
The caveat here is it means F-Droid has to build your app, which can take some time (but they're actively working on improving that)
no idea, but they have such a low range they aren't very useful for self-driving which relies more on understanding your surroundings and planning a route.
unfortunately definitely not.
my team has a strong emphasis on working with hardware. remote work doesn't really make sense
