Fuck the CCP.Slava Ukraini!Ban pit bulls.

  • Most people don't have the patience to listen to a sales pitch. I think we need to start with a concept that is easy for most people to understand. For me, "Reddit alternative" is the simple concept.

  • Yeah but we still need to start with an easy concept before going into details. I would at least start by saying "Similar to Reddit but better in multiple ways."

  • For me, I was actively looking for an alternative to Reddit. So when I heard fediverse was somewhat similar to Reddit, it immediately made me want to try it. I only found out about the federation, different servers etc after I properly started trying to use Lemmy/Kbin at that time.

  • For most people that means either:

    a) So that's kinda like Reddit or b) TLDR; back to Reddit

  • So how would you describe the fediverse in just 2 words? Or perhaps 5 words?

  • I didn't know microblogs are so much more popular than the threadiverse until I see the maps.

  • No I only communicate violently. /s

It is not unpractical. You don’t need to follow every bullet point for every conversation. In most cases a normal professional conversation just need to be respectful. Some of the non violent techniques are only important in specific situations (e.g. difficult colleague in a stressful scenario)

  • Bro!

  • I don't feel loyalty to any particular country, not even my own. We all live on this small planet called Earth.

That said, I wouldn't mind taking the pledge for immigration purposes, as long as I respect the country's values (democracy, laws, and so on). Canada seems cool.

  • It all depends on the details. If I have to be loyal to a dictator, I would not pledge, and I would not move to such countries anyway.
