  • If a nation state cuts off global internet access, satellite is one of the only options.

That doesn't change just because it's not ideal, or because governments have countermeasures.

  • Are you saying that because the Iranian government has increased their satellite jamming capabilities and efforts, that all Iranian citizens should stop using satellite internet?

Or are you under the impression that because the government may be jamming signals in one, or multiple different locations, that they're jamming all frequencies, in all places, at all times?

  • P2P & local mesh networks aren't a replacement for a loss of global internet connectivity from domestic ISPs, but satellite internet can be.

  • Knowing that information, and not making it public, makes you complicit.

Figure out a way to safely and publicly disclose that information.

If I had to guess, he's a Florida landscaper or contractor, because that's their MO, but just because it's commonplace, doesn't mean you're not complicit for choosing not to share the information.

  • Yes, we owe the Democrats our votes no matter what they do, or don't do.

I now realize that the Democratic party didn't fail their voters or America, we failed them.

Thank you for showing me the light.

  • It would be a real shame if people online started to regularly report his wife to ICE and any local law enforcement collaborators.

  • I realize I'm a bit late, but in case you haven't decided yet, let me just say this:

    Yes, oh fuck yes.

Easily one of the best shows on TV right now AND it has a regular yearly release schedule.

  • Hollywood churns out mostly dogshit quality movies, reboots, and sequels, of which a single ticket is around $20.

A family of 4 could easily spend over $100 just to see one mediocre movie.

Either Hollywood movie studios works with theaters to change that reality, or theaters die, and studios get acquired by streamers without any fear of antitrust to hold them back.

The only change I can see them making is increasing their ticket and concession prices.

  • The crew should be treated like any other hostile covert intelligence asset and operatives who get arrested during their activities, not as ordinary criminals.

  • You have two choices:

Put her down or call ICE.

The former is more humane, but the latter would be a lot funnier.

But seriously, I would just disconnect, or at most, I would ask her to have the chatbot provides sources and then ask her to pull them up.

If her learning that it's making up sources doesn't get through to her, I wouldn't try anymore. Just accept that she's either going to have to come through it on her own, or she'll just progressively get worse and worse, and you'll have to decide if you want to stick around for that, I wouldn't.

  • A pitch deck is a presentation tool used by sales reps when they're presenting their existing products to perspective clients.

At least, that's what it is in this context.

  • I rewatch Generation Kill every few years, such a fantastic miniseries.

And sometimes I just get the desire to watch part of the Christ killer scene.

  • And of the several hundred, or thousands, of smart TV models available, how many have you owned?

Of the tens of thousands of IoT devices available, how many have you owned?

Just trying to figure out the sample size that you based your statement on.

  • I guess I never considered going door-to-door in the apartment complex and smashing everyone's Wi-Fi router whose settings displease me.

    10/10 suggestion, will attempt.

  • Not OP, but I have heard that some smart TVs do automatically join open networks. Whether it's true or not, I can't say.

But if it is true, I would imagine it would vary between manufacturers and even specific device models.

  • That laptop is just one gigantic piece of e-waste.

  • “We assumed the technology was further along than it actually was,” one executive said privately

I wonder how many executives made these types of decisions knowing the technology could not perform as intended, but wanted to boost their quarterly or yearly bonuses, versus how many were just gullible morons.
