  • I never truly appreciated how close I got to killing my self horribly as a dumbass middle school kid. I saw so much media on people stealing drugs from the bathroom that I wanted to try it. We only really had Tylenol Extra Strength, and other simple OTC meds. Not deterred, I went and downed probably 8-10 of the 500mg pills and stopped because I couldn't swallow any more. Got super tired and fell asleep on the couch for a few hours. Can't imagine if I had something like this that also had alcohol in it that I wouldn't have tried to chug it instead. Kids are dumb and they'll do shit nobody expects and tell nobody about it for fear of consequence.

  • Good

  • I always interpreted it as literally the exact same shit with a different coat of paint, the only differences between them literally are just the aesthetics.

  • I was looking for a youtube thumbnail I saw a few weeks ago that was an AI remake of the overly attached girlfriend but it just super uncanny and I hated looking at it, but while I was looking youtube decided to send me in a different direction and honestly I'm still rather disturbed.

  • It took me years to realize what I liked about Japan was the walkable city and good public transportation. I can fill up on anime slop at home, but I couldn't place it for years that what really made me love living there was the fact that as a teenager I could just go out to a place and just do stuff. I ended up being in really good shape and lost basically all the excess weight at the same time. There was also a lot more of a community in the local block I lived on, small neighborhood events that you'd do with the neighbors for a night just to kinda stay familiar not to mention the more culturally Japanese things like 回覧板 where you're just passing around a notice from household to household so you kinda have to interact with your neighbors a bit.

  • I think Subnautica really did that loop really well. Starting out you needed to grab fish to stay alive, a bit of an investment but not super tedious, exploring gave you some farming options, more exploration let you recharge batteries, and you kinda kept going and going. It's the game that made me enjoy the genre under very specific circumstances. It gave you the feeling of needing to survive while also not tugging at your coat asking you to eat another dozen potatoes or something.

  • They were in 50 pound bags

  • I remember my mother buying like 2000 pounds of gravel/stones and loading it in the back of our tiny compact Kia Rio, it bottomed out the suspension and was one of the worst rides home. More than triple what he has, and that little car kept trucking for over 20 years.

  • The US specifically wanted to avoid the Soviets from entering the Pacific Front because they didn't want them having any possible claims to Japan and potentially having to split the land akin to Europe. Pretty quickly after the US occupation there was a sizable communist movement seeking to gain power through election where they expected the US to hold up their public statements of freedom and democracy. In the end though the US cracked down on the leadership and essentially destroyed the movement. Though pretty pathetic now, the Japanese communist party still receives a decent chunk of the vote, though obviously nothing to actually disrupt the neoliberal hell.

  • I wanted to see some tweets from someone that had started posting after a year and I couldn't even find them, I required direct links from other people to even see them. The site is just flat out unusable for my very light needs such as following vtuber announcements.

  • I developed a particular hatred of anarchy servers after that one guy blew up on youtube for chronicling the history of 2B2T and it's just the most petty bullshit. They give themselves overly grandiose names and talk about how they create exploits just to ruin other people's work or to just try to break the thing. The youtuber treats it as if it's some epic history when it's mainly a bunch of 4chan nerds being assholes to each other. On one of the videos someone talked about how they logged on to check it out only to be greeted with people spamming slurs in the chat so they logged off and never went back. I imagine these places are going to install a plugin to get around this anyway.

  • The PragerU logo makes the bottom right hand look like it has some sort of weird skin infectionand should go to the hospital immediately.
