X commenter Leftyslayer complained, “Costco immediately passed the burden to its customers. They took the profits during the good times and now they screw the citizens during downturn. They have no loyalty to the customer.
Actually not true (imagine my surprise at an X user being uninformed)
Millerchip said that while Costco was seeing a direct impact from tariffs on imports of some fresh food items from Central and South America, it decided not to increase prices "because they are key staple items" for its customers.
Costco has been eating the costs of the tariffs (at least in some cases)
I remember especially hating all the extra categories and freemium content plex added that I wasn't interested in viewing but couldn't remove (or at least did not find a way to remove).
Not doubting your experience at all. For all I know it’s a new option; I just discovered it, but for the other folks like me still stuck with Plex, most (all?) of this can be disabled in the Online Media Sources setting on the server (yeah - I know 🙄)…
I think the situation under discussion is converting plex users to jellyfin though. Most plex users won’t have a reverse proxy setup because it’s not needed.
I’m ready to replace plex but unless something major has changed in the last several months I simply can’t understand how people feel jellyfin is a comparable solution to plex. I couldn’t even get past the user interface and it falling flat on its face with media recognition.
I’ve seen a piefed user’s posts show up in my mastodon feed. Near as I can tell, after asking them, it wasn’t intentional on their part, but they used a hashtag in their piefed post that I was subscribed to on mastodon and that was what caused it to get pulled in.
It was especially confusing at first because neither my mastodon client nor my Lemmy/piefed client displayed the hashtag.
I don’t think this answered your question but thought you might find the info useful.
Reminiscent of my uncle and his care for/leeching of my grandmother, except check this out.
Last time I saw him we were talking he told me “I am racist, but know racism is wrong, and I’m trying my best to teach my kids not to be like that”
Which is super self aware; so good for you? But I just can’t wrap my mind around how you can know racism is wrong and yet continue to be racist and struggle to teach your kids to not be racist. Like…just stop being racist?
That’s the one
