  • There needs to be more discussion around separating the country of Israel from its dominant religion. So when people refer to the systematic murder organised by the country, it's understood that it doesn't make any reference to the Jewish people.

  • Yeah I agree of sorts and people have the right to be offended so I prefer looser moderation over the absolute otherwise there's no difference between those groups that preach 'everything inclusive (except what we don't like)' and those who are clearly extreme and have their own biases. The irony of freespeech is you're going to hear things you don't agree with, and that's fine.

  • I once heard a boy about 15-17 talk openly and loudly on the bus whilst on the phone about how he's going to kill his sister because of who she's dating and he didn't like it (in England). He said that he previously hit her to hit some sense in to her. He was Pakistani and boasting about this on the phone. I saw another boy about the same age shouting at a girl also about the same age, "hurry up you fat slut" and "f*cking get up these steps whore" forcing her to walk up and down steps in a library because she was honestly, slightly chubby by today's standards, in an attempt to make her slim. I touched her arm to get her attention as she passed and said she didn't have to put up with this and she needs to report it, whilst another girl overheard it and was like wtf and we both reported it. She kept apologising for him about how he didn't mean it and so on. He came up to me and was like 'bro, bro, what you think you doin' touchin' my girl? touch her again and i'll knock you out'. I had to stop myself from laughing because this kid was like a 1.6m skinny shit!

    Still, this is normal in their culture. You either understand, or you really can't imagine how normalised it is.

  • It doesn't stop there, it spills over to other religions to. e.g. in a documentary about the origin of man, when referring to the first woman that RNA evidence shows existed as evidenced in all of our RNA, they referred to her as 'mother' instead of 'eve' as the scientists do.

  • The BBC have always been 'aunty' from the war periods onwards, broadcasting exactly what it's told to do, and it's the same for the radio stations where broadcasts would go on as normal because each DJ has to record a session that would be played in the event of a nuclear crisis.

Report it to a male security guard (who, guess what, probably is also of the same ilk) and you get told to go on your way... It even attracts attention of other elders who overhear and stand and stare menacingly at you.

  • I actually spoke to some cultured food scientists the other week and that is almost word-for-word what they said; that in focus groups this question comes up every time and they want to see decade+ studies of people who eat it.

    It may be genetically the same, but genetically the same as an animal with illness? Fish is the simplest to produce, but beef will take decades to get right.
