  • Ich warte ja immer noch auf ernsthafte Konsequenzen. Im Endeffekt bedeutet diese Aussage ja, dass alle Microsoft-Nutzer gerade illegal unterwegs sind und die Software nicht mehr nutzen dürfen, da sie nicht garantierten können, dass keine Daten an US-Behörden fließen. Alle Behörden, alle Firmen, alle Institutionen, alle Firmen. Es fühlt sich gerade echt an wie bei Don't look up, wo auch alle den Meteoriten ignorieren

  • Yeah, my in-laws have such a book and it honestly is great. They live in their own flat where nobody can access the book without breaking in. They do not save their passwords in their browser, so anyone hacking into their PC can't grab them. If they want to login into an account, they take out their book, put in the user name and unique password and that's it. Quite the good method and I really do not see many problems there.

  • Als Background: Es gibt in Deutschland das "Deutsche Lebensmittelbuch", welches Lebensmittel definiert. Was ja auch irgendwie Sinn macht, wenn man Apfelmus kauft, will man, dass das aus Äpfeln gemacht ist und nicht aus Klärschlamm mit Aroma und wenn man ein Schweineschnitzel kauft, sollte das halt aus Schwein sein. Achtet mal auf euren Produkten auf die Verkehrsbezeichnung, welche der offizielle Name des Lebensmittel ist.

    Traditionell ist die Lebensmittelkontrolle auch darauf ausgerichtet, dass Lebensmittel nicht mit minderwertigen Stoffen gestreckt werden, so in der Tradition von "Sägemehl im Brot". Da gibt es auch eine lange Tradition, wie teures Fleisch mit billigeren Stoffen gestreckt wird. In anderen europäischen Ländern ist es ähnlich.

    Das beißt sich jetzt aber natürlich mit unserem neuen Verlangen tierische Produkte durch vegane Alternativen zu ersetzen, weil wir natürlich "Pferdesalami" als "Salami aus Pferdefleisch" definiert haben und eine vegane Pferdesalami natürlich kein einziges Pferd enthält. Hier gäbe es eigentlich die Notwendigkeit die Regeln etwas anzupassen, denn natürlich ist etwa Hafermilch im normalen Sprachgebrauch eine Milch, aber laut Lebensmittelbuch halt ein Tierprodukt.

    Jetzt sind aber (europaweit) die Tierlobby, Bauern und rechtsextreme und konservative Politiker auf die Idee gekommen, diese Definitionen als Aufhänger zu nehmen, um die neue Konkurrenz zu behindern. Daher haben wir die Klagen um die Hafermilch, die nicht Hafermilch heißen darf und jetzt auch so einen Quatsch. Es gibt auch Länder wie Italien, in denen rechte Politiker jetzt ein Verbot von "Laborfleisch" in Gesetze gießen, was die junge Industrie dann natürlich zuverlässig zum Wohle der Bauern killt.

    Dabei sind wir in der Lage einen Chicken Nugget zu produzieren, der komplett pflanzlich hergestellt ist und sich geschmacklich nicht von einem normalen Tiernugget unterscheidet. Aber ressourcenschonender, ohne Tierleid, günstiger. Tja.

  • Yeah, there is no real way out for Putin. If he stops this war, his economy is in ruins. Even if sanctions are lifted, the world has gotten new suppliers for russian goods and even for russian oil & gas. Germany e.g. is rapidly changing its energy economy and won't buy as much gas as before. Millions of men will come back from the war, heavily traumatized and no real job prospects.

    But even if Ukraine falls, he wins and Russia occupies the country: There will be a mass scale guerrilla warfare in a ruined country where many people fled. Sanctions will continue and what is left of Ukraine won't restore the russian economy.

    And the war might still go on for a while, but it is totally unsustainable in the long run.
