I think they're doing what you want? Where I live we basically have had this system since 2006. I can use my debit card for online banking, online purchases, in store purchases, personal transactions (for example sending money to friends, instant and free), and for public transport. No need for a credit card or something like venmo.
There's a case to be made about privacy and such, especially the public transport part, but it is really convenient.
I bought an iPhone 12 mini specifically for its small size. It's not rare for people to say something like, "wow your phone is so small wtf", and I'm like yeah that's the whole point. I don't want or need to carry around half a fucking tablet.
Look into ReVanced for Android or YouTube Plus for iOS. They're nodded clients with built in adblocker and sponsorblock, including more QoL features. I haven't seen and ad in months
This is fucked up journalism inside the fucked up story that is super fucked up. Look at this - in the first quote they replace whatever word he used with [79]. Why? Presumably the original word was “old” and they wanted to reinforce the 79 as that has become shorthand for dementia, since the press has decided they can’t say anything due to their billionaire owners telling them they can’t say anything about it.
Am I missing something? If you actually click the link to the tweet you'd have seen that Brian Schatz said, and I quote directly:
"I don’t see how you can be a serious person and not find this extremely worrisome. He is not stable at all and his reality is warped. He was always a bit like this of course but now he’s 80.".
There is no replacement of the word "old" or anything like that, at the very least it was a minor correction from 80 y/o to Trumps actual age of 79 y/o.
And even if that is the case, replacing "old" with "79" or "80" would have been way more damning in my opinion. Maybe I'm too young for this shit but "old" for me is 55+. Not fucking retirement age, AKA 67+ where I live, let alone 79 or 80 years old.
I truly don't know what to make of this comment. Yeah trump is a shithead and I truly am sad that he still isn't 6 feet deep, but what are you trying to achieve with this comment? It just seems like ragebait aimed at journalist or something, I really, truly, don't know.
EDIT: made a couple of small edits to make my points more clear. Don't know if lemmy lets you see the first version of a post but if it does feel free to compare. As of this edit I still stand by my point
Don't you know? Computer viruses are a ploy by the WEF to control our minds and turn the frogs gay. Or something like that /s
In all seriousness, I kinda get what you mean. But using common sense when pirating will very much help mitigate any chance of a virus. I suppose it does help if you've been sailing the high seas since you were young, tho
I haven't had a virus in recent years, and I'm pretty sure that the ones I had many moons ago were just the virus scanners being scared of a keygen exe. Just go with your gut and you will pretty much be fine. Use a sandbox if you want to be extra safe, but a separate computer is completely and utterly overkill.
Yeah true. But that's only a select few games. Most indie titles forgo DRM altogether, and most titles that use for example denuvo remove it after a while (mostly after enough sales) for the free performance boost.
I personally haven't had a virus in years. If OP is really scared about getting one I'd suggest sandboxing the content via software. Anything else is overkill imho
I can understand asking the difference between different metal sub genres cause metalheads do like to go a bit overboard with them. But the definition of punk and blues? Cmon man those are pretty well defined. You're not gonna convince me that after listening to a guns and roses song, a dead kennedys song and a BB King song that you'd be unable to say which one is generic rock, which is punk and which is blues.
