I have sat next to them on airplanes, met the third founder 15 years ago. They really just think they're paramilitary and everything is about keeping on mission. It's not random devs taking random work without consideration for the content or implication of the work
I remember being a kid and they were so on our asses at the local neighborhood place, we would literally tape cans of soda and candy to our legs under our jeans and whatnot
I always end up with MacBooks after startups and love to have something I can just pick up and use whereas my PC is my command center. Most of my shit is web or local web services so just need a Mozilla terminal. Also, I can't fathom buying one out of pocket. I've also never had an iPhone, it doesn't make sense to my brain.
I just had the kind of thought you used to put on social media in the olden times, and thought, "as usual, my thoughts would be wasted on me and my human experience." But then I remembered this thread.
I call those moments, "what do women see in me?"
