  • I didn't know it was a popular belief that prenups, themselves are bad. I always thought it was because, for most of us, our only exposure to them is when something bad happens, causing the prenup to come into effect. Lots of negative associations with the tumult of divorce, the trouble that might lead to one, and the ugliness of the adjudication of the prenup, as they can get nasty.

also, as been mentioned here already: the lack of trust implied by even having one.

  • I think the key issue is trust, but you're right.

  • Frodo laughs

  • OP You didn't ask, "why are you brave?"

  • religion.

    invisible sky wizards? magic? miracles?

    show me some proof.

  • Fibonacci would like a word... ;P

  • FYI: in most countries, something is granted a copyright simply by virtue of having been published. If the claimant has unpublished work, they can still make a claim if they can prove provenance. Copyright is something that happens (more or less) automatically.

The sticky part is that it's a civil offense, and challenges must be extensively adjudicated-- which is often very expensive.

  • just glad he didn't translate Wookie grandpa watching VR porn in the living room!

  • Jews are not a monolith. One can criticize Israel without it being a criticism on Jews or Judaism.

Blaming all jews for the actions of Israel (or any religion for the actions of a few) would be like blaming all Christians in the world for the actions of Trump, just because he happens to be Christian.

  • Trumpians cheated and lied‽

    GASP!

  • Ferengi Rule of Acquisition 34: War is good for business

THAT is what we learned from history. what we didn't learn from history is to stop electing billionaires and their puppets.

  • just explained - with many examples - of how that's not necessarily true.

also, it's a fictional story about fictional beings in a fictional land. Nothing has to be true here.

  • take back one of the branches of government

    that would be doing "something"

  • democrats "work"?

  • You can’t celebrate Christmas without Christianity. It’s in the name.

I'm an atheist, and I celebrate Christmas. no Jesus involved. same for most everyone I've ever met.

If the holiday they celebrate is canonically called Christmas, then Christianity has to exist in the universe.

that's like saying "I invented the light bulb! therefore, if it exists anywhere else in the universe, they stole it from me!"

lots of people invent or discover things simultaneously all over the world, and it's not until later that we find out. Here's a whole wiki article about it.

And maybe the story is translated from another language, and the term 'Christmas" was substituted so modern western children would understand the context.

    examples:

    • Frozen: Reimagines Hans Christian Andersen's "The Snow Queen," focusing on sisterly love rather than a quest for a lost love, fitting modern narratives.
    • Maleficent: Retells "Sleeping Beauty" from the villain's perspective, adding complexity and exploring her backstory.
    • Hard Candy: A dark modern take on "Little Red Riding Hood," with a young girl confronting a predator.
    • American Gods: Neil Gaiman brings ancient gods into modern America, reflecting cultural shifts and beliefs.

so, the term 'Christmas' being used could mean many things-- most of all that you shouldn't just jump to safe conclusions.

  • I'm quite certain that if you actually asked Dick van Dyke about this, he'd likely have a similar response, lol

  • looks like a gigantic cannabis bud, lol

  • then just fuckin' do it! She damn well knew that she was breaking the law, so hold her to account! they don't give a damn about your empty threats.

    DO SOMETHING!

  • I haven’t seen that show in a long time, so I forgot that he was holding anything
