  • The last time I went they had close up cameras at the cash registers so I’m already driven away.

  • Everyone I know has intentionally installed the wiretap. I don’t get it. The only purpose it seems to serve is badly managing shopping lists and playing music by a specific band. The tradeoffs aren’t worth it!

  • I recently realized my go-to ice cream at my local joint (mint chocolate chip) has been vegan the whole time and was shocked.

  • As someone who’s tried several PC-in-the-livingroom solutions, just try building a PC with good specs at that size and you’ll appreciate the niche that is being filled.

  • To be honest I just don’t want google to get more money. They suck.

Also your use case is very specific. The people I was referencing have more basic needs that would be easily bypassed with ublock. It’s fine if the way you like to listen to music is best served by youtube with a subscription.

  • Just recently started my second viewing of TOS, and I was surprised how well the writing held up.

There’s one episode where a guy builds an artificial human, and his wife is like “Did you have sex with it?” And he responds “Robots can’t feel love.” “Did you have sex with the robot?” “They only follow commands, it could no more love than a toaster!” and everyone just kind of stares at him for a beat before moving on and you can tell from that moment on everyone knows he built a sex bot.

  • I’m often surprised when I hear how other people live. Conversation at work will go like:

Employee A: “Youtube ads are getting ridiculous.”

Me: “You still see Youtube ads?”

Employee B: “Yeah, just get Youtube Premium. Such a smart investment.”

    Me: “Wait, what?!

Several of my millennial friends have cable TV and Tivo or something just because they are creatures of habit and are too tired from raising kids to consider changing their process. Weirdly, my boomer parents are the most tech savvy media consumers I know. They just have terrible taste.

  • More and more I’m finding things I want either aren’t on amazon or are buried under so many inferior products that they are hard to find. Earlier I was looking for geek themed ugly Christmas sweaters, and the ones on the first few pages of amazon results were absolute garbage. Found several viable suppliers elsewhere in no time.

  • I remembered the mouse asking for some crazy stuff after that so I looked it up, and it was all basic needs. He wanted milk, a blanket, and a haircut. Honestly the cookie was the least necessary of his asks.

  • Bandcamp doesn’t have spotify exclusives, but I hear you.

  • Them pulling out of Spotify was the last push I needed to switch to Tidal. The only downside for me is there was a spotify exclusive cover of Daisy by Wet Leg that you can’t get anywhere else.

  • When I was in grad school I lived in an international student dorm where I was basically the only American. One day we had a party, and after a few drinks the Europeans started into this game they’ve all seemingly done a hundred times before where they started saying the most vile shit I’ve ever heard to each other while laughing. Like “OK, sure everyone in my country is drunk all the time, but it’s better than you guys letting in all those thieving gypsys!”

So they did a full round of about 20 people throwing the worst racism/nationalism I’ve ever come across in real life at each other, including absolutely dunking on the only black guy as if he was a representative for all africans, then like a hive mind they all turned to me and someone went “At least none of us are as racist as these Americans!” followed by uproarious laughter. I ask myself internally all the time if my behavior is problematic, but it seemed like these people never learned that skill but instead were taught “USA=racist, everyone else is good” and never questioned it or themselves.

For years this led me to privately think “Man, Europeans are way worse.” But then, you know, we elected Trump twice and the Klan came back dressed in camo.

  • I hear assholes in muscle cars going by outside my window a few times a day, and their cars are so loud following traffic at like 30-40 mph. I would get it if they were racing or something, but if your car is doing just normal low-level driving why does it need to make so much noise?

It feels like if a person walked from one room to another while panting and gasping for air like they just did an intense sprint. I would be more likely to call an ambulance than hi-five them.

  • I can’t tell if this comic is trying to make the sports car guy or the tesla guy look good, either way I’m not vibing with it.

  • For me I just want a fast forward button. They have something they call fast forward, but it seeks instead.
