Arch was the only thing I could get working on my E200AH when I started. It's a weird SoC x86_64, with some non-free drivers. Now I can run anything, but the default with arch was figuring out what to do... Debian installer didn't have a mouse and the keyboard didn't work right and I just got stuck. Arch installer dropped me into a TTY and made me figure it out
right... but so what? in a relatively sandboxed environment without network access. If I wanna play a random game, it's there. If I'm using an old phone, old apps are there. I think it'd kill fdroid more to have only 10 new apps per category.
Maybe you could maintain your own repo with only fresh updates
especially if there aren't obvious security concerns. Rather use an android text editor from 6 years ago if it works well than a trash one that's updated once a month and has a million features i don't care about
I mean, that's one of the things that definitely needs permissions, right? You're overwriting system config and executables for all users on your system. Otherwise a malicious actor could just replace firewall configs, or embed malicious code into your executables. If not /bin and /etc what else should need privileges?
But there is evidence that he defends it, and that he refused to back down after being called out. He is not a good person to look up to, and willfully makes harmful public statements, and willfully stabds by them. In other words, kinda a POS
I do too, but I think being that tone deaf after being called out says a lot, and I think it's pretty good reason to not make blanket endorsements for his statements/beliefs
I think this is an extremely generous take. For anyone not in the loop, he gets called POS for famously weighing in on discussions of pedophelia by saying children 13+ aren't children so it's not pedophelia.
I think this goes beyond being bad at knowing when to correct semantics
Student loans for in-person university. I'll be paying for that for a long time.
Eventually dropped out and finished my degree with WGU. I highly recommend that for anyone considering a college degree. I was able to finish with PELL grants so I added no debt and have a degree
This isn't DOS and probably isn't a FAT filesystem. Tilde isn't a wildcard in linux
