  • Usually only one axis skips steps, especially since the MK4 has collision detection. A shift in both axes would rather indicate a steel sheet shift imo

  • Fantastic! Glad you got it in the end

  • Did you losen the idler tension screws? TPE requires that the tension is very very light otherwise it tends to buckle around the gear before entering the nozzle tube. Reducing retractions to a minimum is also always a good idea, as well as limiting the max flow rate.

  • A handful? Wow that's gotta be like 50% of the 50 series out there!

  • I prefer main simply because it faster to type. I propose main branches be renamed to "m"

  • It's like vim but with lsp support out of the box and the keybindings make sense

  • I'm afraid I can't recommend anything as I've never had issues with this, so I never really researched it. But if the banding frequency changes from print to print, then an issue with the Z axis is unlikely

  • What is driving the bed height? Lead screws? Check if they are straight and/or wobble around as they turn. Any imprecision in bed height due to mechanical issues with the Z axis would also translate into perimeter width variations.

  • I can only guess the print orientation but it looks like curling to me. Basically on that side, the part cooling fan (or lack thereof) is making the plastic of overhangs curl more than on the opposite side which gives you this bad surface finish. Otherwise maybe a retraction issue but that would probably show in other places too (oozing).

  • Good to hear! I surely will give it a try, I've used nixos as my work distro for a little bit last year but they forced us to switch to Ubuntu.

  • Okay so how is it with Cinammon, mate xfce? I know it's crap with Wayland and Xorg especially with nvidia drivers.

  • Check out Zen Browser

  • Kagi and Zen works for me

  • How is fractional scaling on Mint? On Ubuntu 24.04 it's really crap (slow, blurry, flickering cursor, weird artifacts etc)

  • Started using Zen browser recently and it's not bad! Basically Firefox but more stylish and more privacy. It syncs with my Mozilla/Firefox account so on mobile I just use Firefox.

  • And install python and install those dependencies before you can even run the thing

  • Thanks for all the suggestions! I switched to qbittorrent and it works nicely for now. The web ui is fine for the little I use it so all good! I'll report if something starts failing again which would indicate another issue with me setup.

  • Seems to work very nicely and it's much more responsive than transmission. Great, thanks!

  • I'm not set on transmission, I tried qbittorrent just now and it seems to work for me. But thanks! I anyway use a separate container and network for vpn.
