we have been having a variant of this headline appear ubiquitously every six months for decades.
we all know it’s a dumb idea, and we all agree that the science and data prove it, so why do we still have it?
well - because Ontario says we can’t change if New York doesn’t, and New York says we can’t change if Ontario doesn’t. it’s like a big unnecessary game of chrono-chicken. one of these regions needs to just go plowing straight ahead. the loser will absolutely end up copying the winner.

i think perhaps the one of the biggest problems may be the fact that we give massive tax breaks and subsidies to food corporations and not to individual farmers.
fun fact : in the U.K. the word “trump” is slang for “fart”
i really believe that we need to start using that colloquialism a lot more frequently
