  • Did my first jujitsu class yesterday. Kinda understand the 2 holds they showed me (6 step arm-bar, scissor sweep) but need to practice them more. Had lots of fun. Wasn't sure what to expect at first but everyone was really friendly and didn't get any weird vibes from anybody. Going to a judo class on Sat.

What the fuck am I supposed to do when we roll? I was just tryna pin the other person like if we were wrestling but idk

  • Is Blue Prince good? I keep seeing it on gamepass but I passed it up for Citizen Sleeper and 1000x resist

  • Had a buddy enthusiastically recommend 'Snow Crash' by Neal Stephenson and I'm 2 chapters in and I kinda hate it tbh. The writing gets on my nerves and reminds me of some sort of proto r*ddit "le epic bacon" ass kinda writing. I imagine this was probably funny in 1992 when it came out but I don't think I'm gonna finish it unless someone tells me it gets better.

On the flip side, started reading 'Grapes of Wrath' since I don't remember anything about it but always see that one paragraph posted here, and fell in love with the writing right away.

  • Wild that there are people out there that only play competitive online games. Like, those are my least favorite games. Give me lots of lore and words. Honestly, I don't even care if there's any actual gameplay.

  • What's with the ultra-rich and yachts? Like why is that the go-to for these people? My mind immediately goes to them doing illegal acts (read: sexpest shit) on international waters, but I mean, there's gotta be something else, yeah?

  • Today at the gym I jump roped. I started boxing so I'm tryna build up my stamina. But I usually jump every time I go to the gym so I can stay mobile as I get older.

  • I've gotten back into physical cookbooks as well and 2 of my favorites are 'Vegan With A Vengeance' by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and 'Isa Does It' by the same author. Good stuff. Has basically every kind of food, gives a good list of pantry staples to cook all the ingredients, and was one of the books I bought on a whim like 16 years ago or so that kickstarted my interest in veganism.
