I wouldn't consider this strange. Bazzite definitely has some downsides that involve tinkering to get things working on some hardware.
Valve is trying to deliver both a hardware product that just works, and a software product that just works without that tinkering. They're trying to bring Linux to your mom who wants to play terraria and you uncle who plays overwatch with his kids. They want them to have an experience that's console like in how easy/intuitive it is to use, without anything that's finicky or confusing.
Every time I do an update on bazzite it breaks deckyloader for me and I have to go in and fix it. I've had to change controller type on bazzite to get certain games to work.
I have back buttons on my device that still don't map reliably in bazzite. This is not the experience valve want their customers to have.
People in the field would love to bust Google for this so it's a safe bet that they are actively looking for Google to log or transmit what you type in the keyboard in every app. The fact that the news hasn't broken that Google is logging this info is important. It means in the realm of possibility it's not impossible but it is unlikely.
Still it's safer to assume all of your communications on stock android are being tracked or spied on.
The same way you assume a weapon is loaded. Better safe than sorry.
The short answer is that the wrong people are seeing decreased birth rates.
Religious and poor? To them that equals easily led under-educated, and easily controlled. They need this subset of the population in order to continue to extract wealth.
Wealth from the private prison system, wealth from the military industrial complex, wealth from the predominantly labor supported industries that prop up energy, housing, transportation, and other blue collar jobs. To them, more poor babies means more essentially slave or low wage labor.
The only value poor people have to the rich elite is to do the labor, make the money (so that the wealthy can take the lions share), and spend what little money they have left so that the wealthy can take most of what's left by selling baubles.
I understand your fears. I live in the US. My son is autistic. My youngest brother is autistic. Both I and my youngest sister have ADHD.
We were all diagnosed as children and my parents could only afford to help the worse off of us (my youngest brother) so that's where their time, effort, and money went.
I struggled for years. My sister struggled for years. Because there was no support for us.
But I want you to understand that (as someone who suspects they also have Autism), the support for children with autism and ADHD far outweighs what is available for adults, and it might be more beneficial to him to give him support now than to allow him to suffer in some aspects without it.
The support he's already getting likely won't cover everything.
I would fight for your son and my son and all the others who could likely be affected by the current regime. Others will too. There's so many more of us than people think and there's power in that.
At the end of the day your child and his care is your business. I'm sure you've thought this through a million times.
I just wanted to express that there's a downside to it.
This subject is always confusing for me and I'm not sure I'm not somewhere in between. I can "see images" but it's not like watching a movie screen for me. The images aren't... Crisp or clear or anything. And they move around (my brain only really fills in the bits and pieces I concentrate on), so parts of the image are fuzzy.
As a kid, I always lamented that images in my head wouldn't stay still long enough for me to draw them out.
I can also just close my eyes and wee plain blackness. So it feels like neither description is one I fit into.
Yeah! Compared to the first game it's so much bigger. I feel like there's so much to do and that's just in the first act. I'm not as far in as you but I'm trying to take my time. Backtracking everywhere to see what I missed. It's also a stunning game and the mechanics feel really good. It's frustrating at times because I feel like this game deserves a better player than me but man, I'm having fun. I'm so glad this game was worth the wait.
Same. The first crest makes pogoing a lot easier for me, but they crests are all very customizable once you start collecting memory lockets. But every time I get a new one I feel like I need to test it out just to see if it's better or anything and admittedly I think the third one you get makes your strike slower but also allows you to do more damage per hit and that was useful for me in greymore while exploring.
Totally fair. I was trying to hold back on "blaming the normies". But you're right. There are a lot of people who don't change any settings they just plug and play and pretend everything is fine.
I am concerned that they haven't explained how they're going to implement this for (and who counts as) experienced users.
I am also concerned that they have probably found a work around to get what they want while paying us lip service.
