  • Yeah. God I'm tired of this timeline.

  • I think you're missing the point. The number of people in America who believe in young earth creationism is rising pretty steadily.

Some of that has to do with things like poor education (the education system deliberately being undermined).

Some of it has to do with environmental factors like lead in paint or gasoline.

Some of it has to do with religious nut but jobs grifting.

Some of it (maybe a lot of it at the source) has to do with capitalism.

But my comment was sarcastic. As in, I know there's other reasons, but I'm sure that at least some of these young earth creationists are ate paint chips as kids.

  • Nah. Regular people. I am not an influencer and I got one of these emails. But I'm also not going to test their hardware for them.

I like pixel phones but I actually really really hate Gemini and I'm not buying the pixel 10. I think they're also attempting to get people who bought their phones previously but haven't bought one in awhile to use more of their stuff.

  • So basically, Open AI is upset that Musk sued to prevent them becoming a for profit company, and they're upset that so many tiny non-profit companies are opposing them for various reasons. So they have decided to subpoena and or sue all those tiny non-profits under the 'assumption' that they must be funded by Musk in order to further his opposition to the company and their for profit plans. And intimidate these small non-profits, which kills two birds with one stone.

  • You only get the micro plastics to electroplate the lead if you got your 5G turned on.

  • That explains why in 2019 40% of Americans believed in young earth creationism.

  • Never used Spotify and they have solidified that I never will. Not just because of this but because of everything else too. AI music, AI radio stations, paying artists less than they should by a mile.

  • Can you tell us about your symptoms?

    Are you officially diagnosed?

Do you live in a place with protections for persons with a Neurodivergent Disability?

Does your employer know you have ADHD, and, if so, are there any accomodations they can provide for you that would help?

  • Have you tried caffeine or energy drinks?

  • As I would expect of an Odin.

  • That wasn't my point. I was just pointing out that this wasn't a "give boomers tech" problem. It's every gen's problem to some extent.

But I'm also not sure that you meant to respond to me.

  • I gazed. It was a good time. 15/10 floof.

  • It ain't just Boomers. Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha are all using GAI LLM's to the detriment of society as a whole.

  • I did figure it out and it's been awesome although I don't know what the difference is between high refresh and regal.

Found out by poking around that I can change the colors per app too which is awesome.

  • This is good information to know. I honestly chalked their popularity up to an advertising/media blitz combined with influencer clout thing.

We didn't have influencers in the same way back in the 90's but that's a lot of why Furbies got popular back then (from what I recall). I also clearly don't know how to spell Labubu.

  • I was having a conversation the other day with my husband about the Labooboo toys and how most toys have lore (a show, a movie, a game, a comic, etc) to build a story around, and generally give us characters to bond to and endear us to. But there's a few toys that have come out (ones that specifically get popular with kids and adults both) that don't start out this way, and how I don't personally understand the why of that.

Beanie Babies, Furbies, and now the Labooboo toys fall into the non-lore having category. It's interesting to look back on these kinds of toys and see the examples and how adults responded to them.

  • I need to figure out how to do that because I've been manually refreshing if I need to and keeping the refresh rate somewhere in the middle.

  • So long as you download and install a compromised app first.

Dubbed "Pixnapping," this attack vector begins when a victim unknowingly installs a malicious mobile application on their Android smartphone. -Pixnapping could be used to steal private data, including 2FA codes. -Side-channel attack abuses Google Android APIs to steal data on display. -Flaw is partially patched, although a more complete fix is due in December.

  • I own the Boox Tab Mini C. It's fine for reading ebooks. The screen refresh isn't really fast enough for a lot of apps , especially apps with pictures or things other than text. This causes a lot of artifacting.

You can read news papers, magazines, ebooks, and comics and it's fine for that although I think perhaps would be better without the color e-ink for most things. If it had a color setting and a grey scale setting I'd like that.

But it makes the page illegible if you scroll for too long otherwise, so stuff you would use it for like reading web pages get progressively more difficult the longer you scroll.

I think the size is good and I also think you're likely to have the same problem on a Kindle to some extent.

Additionally, it is android but it doesn't natively come with a lot of android apps you might be used to. You can remove some of the apps but it's not as easy as just going to the app store and deleting them.

It's nice to see this kind of thing in person before you buy it.

I recommend buying it from a store where you can return it if you don't like it.
