  • … didn’t stop to think if they should.

  • He recently posted a totally real /s drug test result showing he’s not on any drugs.

Of course, it makes explaining his behavior really difficult.

  • Why can I can smell this photo?

  • That’s far from an even comparison. Red caps were nothing of note before MAGA unless maybe your favorite sports team use them. The flag of the United States of America carries far more history and significance than a red cap. Any future version of the USA will include the same flag. Every American should identify with it in some level. It’s worth taking control of its meaning and not let it be a synonym for fascism.

  • But, you’re letting them control the narrative with 🇺🇸=white, racist government and 🇲🇽=unruly protesters.

They want 🇺🇸 to be a symbol of the white oppressors. They want people to look at the protests and see a foreign flag because their whole narrative revolves around immigrants being invaders.

You want most Americans to look at the protesters and see themselves.

  • Negatively: Almost any clothing with more than a couple words of text.

    Clothing with a prominent brand.

    Clothing with right-wing political connotations.

Dyed blonde hair or hair dyed brown/black that should, obviously, be gray.

Tramp stamps. Japanese writing tattoos on non-Japanese. Face tattoos. Neck tattoos. Tattoos of pop culture themes.

Expensive cars. Dodge pickup-trucks. Harley Davidson motorcycles. Dodge Chargers. Teslas.

    Police officers.

Positively: Normal clothing. Well-dressed but obviously not expensive clothing. ‘Funky’ style clothing. Clothing that would just look stupid on me.

Wildly dyed hair. Subtlety dyed hair that isn’t covering something up.

Tattoos that are, at least, fairly unique.

Glasses. (I don’t know, I’m prejudiced for people with glasses.)

    Old women.

I could probably come up with a lot more. We’re all prejudiced in some way. It’s the things that we’re prejudiced about and how attached we are to those prejudices that define us.

  • he could have rolled back everything Bush did. The Afghanistan invasion, the extraordinary rendition, the "enhanced interrogation", the P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act. He could have ended all of those.

    • The USA was already heavily bogged down in Afghanistan when Obama took office. He could not have simple pulled out. Look at all the shit Biden took when he did after involvement had already been scaled back.
    • Obama did end torture at Guantanamo.
    • American Presidents don’t have the power to repeal laws.

Obama wasn’t perfect—not even great. But, those are weird things to lay on him.

  • Send me your game development company and I’ll double it! See my bio for details. You must follow the instructions exactly or you won’t get anything.

  • On the other hand, the new blockchain game they just released had funding from Marc Andreessen. So, color me skeptical.

  • Read up on her and her family’s history. She’s had ties to Putin going way back.

Either she’s impartial or doing Putin’s bidding. If you know anything about her, impartiality is not her thing. Her history with Russia strongly suggests the latter.

  • I can tell you the CEO of Salesforce doesn’t make enough. The position doesn’t even pay enough for a decent barber, either.

To be fair, I don’t think any level of income is enough to make neckbeard-chic look good.

  • Aren’t USA’s university students’ tuition subsidized by the federal government and states to some degree? But, foreign students are paying the full cost?

Won’t fewer foreign students mean more expensive education for USA residents?

  • Pretty sure Gabbard is in Putin’s pocket. Putin doesn’t want Israel to attack Iran.

The people that have Trump’s ear are accelerationists and Dominionists. They want Israel at war with Iran and probably others.

Trump is still a Putin toady but Putin doesn’t have the people in place to whisper into Trump’s ear. He’s under the spell of the Thiels and Voights.

  • It’s a question that’s been considered over and over again throughout history by academics and philosophers. There’s well-researched books on the topic by experts.

Asking Lemmy is like asking some random person on the street what this whole quantum mechanics thing is about.

You could read up on the subject and discuss particulars with other people interested in the topic. It’s not a subjective question to drop on a bunch of random doom scrollers.

  • Have you seen the quality of the comments and posts? It’s mostly pointless garbage spewing—yes, myself included. I’m convinced that part of the reason LLMs can be so bad at times is that they are fed on random peoples’ boredom and doom posting.

Sure, there’s some quality posts occasionally. Sometimes people have interesting, worthwhile discussions. But, like Reddit before it, most of the posting is memes, snark and venting. It’s not good content on average. If LLMs are training on barely-moderated forums, they are not getting a good education.

  • I expect we’ll see SpaceX rockets with VTEC stickers trying to masquerade as performance rockets.

  • In their homes they can’t have technology but go out back to the massive pole barns where they build gazebos and sheds and you’ll see plenty of electric tools and other tech.

Not sure if that would extend to computer tech, though.
