I use Posteo. Their privacy policy seems to be more sane than the others, with riseup and disroot coming in first and second, but I'd rather not use email providers that present themselves as a "safe" place for activists and journalists.
Maybe PeerTube will see better days when Google can't pay for YouTube anymore.
I don't see how I implied a hope for PeerTube to replace YouTube.
I simply said that PeerTube might see better days when Google can't pay for YouTube anymore, as in PeerTube might get some popularity after that.
It challenges even the multi billionaire tech companies to host something like YouTube at similar scale. I don't think anyone that knows how big YouTube actually is would think that.
There is a native way to transfer communities in Lemmy, but I'm not sure if it works correctly as the last time I tried, it didn't work (It actually locked me out of my community).
But that could be because of instance versions being noticeably different.
Anyways, you first need to be the "owner" (the first mod) in the community and get the one you want to transfer ownership to in the mod team. And then you simply right click on a post or comment that person made and click on "Transfer ownership".
