I’d go a step further and say that this was intended to paint black folks as “nonworking” and lazy. Most likely a dogwhistle cooked up in the diseased brain of Stephen Miller.
My goodness, they’ve found a way to open chip foundries, screen factories, and mass machining factories all within 150 days! Who needs democracy or due process or science policy when you have results like that?!
Way back in the day, a comic (Carlin maybe?) did a less-dumb version of this joke. Something along the lines of “I’m pro-abortion and I’m pro-death-penalty. I’m pro- whatever leads to fewer people on the 405 at rush hour.”
I was initially suspicious after just reading the headline. But after reading the article, I am… slightly less suspicious.
She isn’t an heiress in the sense that most people would think of the term. That is, she wasn’t born into the family and has never been involved with the “family business.” Rather, she married a Walton heir who died, and she inherited her wealth from him.
All I’m saying is that, wealth and surname not withstanding, she could be a decent person with decent motives.
