  • It looks like they're deploying this right now:

Fluxer HQ will likely remain unavailable for the coming few hours as I get this update deployed. The rest of the platform remains available. Please bear with us as we work to get the refactor deployed which should fix this and other issues you've been having! <3

  • It's certainly part of it, for many people. Try to sell your friends on using that old IRC client and tell me they don't take one look at it and turn their nose up at you.

  • 7%. Pathetic. I honestly can't believe things have turned out this way. We were pioneers in this market and now the same person who created it has actively contributed to its' destruction.

  • I see you're sticking with the strawman strategy.

  • Let's do one more thing here to really test your conviction to this argument that discord should be photo-ID-ing it's users

Your entire comment is predicated on a position that I've already told you I do not hold, so good job on making a long and intentional strawman.

    It's called Neglect

Neglect is what I alluded to earlier by saying "demonstrating a pattern of bad parenting".

And to be clear, by "cannot" I was not saying it's impossible, I was saying it's wrong.

Drinking and driving can and do harm others.

Social media and porn also can and do harm others.

The age limits on smoking and also drinking, are there to prevent tobacco and alcohol vendors from hooking children on addictive substances.

Yes, I'm aware of what the purpose of that law is. It sounds like, by your position, we shouldn't have those laws, because that's a parents' responsibility. Is that correct? And if not, please elaborate on how that's different.

  • How did you record them separately?

  • Alright, this is pretty damn cool, thanks

  • I don't think that's a problem because they all meet the same minimum standards:

Smart-ID meets the European Union's eIDAS Regulation and the European Central Bank's standards for a secure authentication solution

  • That issue is >2 years old and the maintainer hasn't commented on it at all.

  • They don't actually care about age verification, they just want the personal information.

  • You're just never going to convince me to use an app called "FluffyChat". Same for "Contunuwuity" or other baby-speak "cute" names. Sorry.

  • Source?

  • Jesus Christ, how stupid can you be?

  • The new SEO

  • None of these states that require age verification have given the companies they regulate any method to verify the users, so I'm pretty sure they don't care. Just like "meh, well, we tried".

The EU actually provides a verification method but AFAIK it's still incomplete/unavailable.

  • Yeah I don't sign up with anything that requires a phone #. Returned an iPhone for this reason years ago.

  • Wait until this guy hears about laptops!

  • God bless you

  • Wow, that really escalated quickly from car damage. These are all crimes you can charge kids with just like adults. You cannot and should not charge their parents, who had abso-fuckin-lutely nothing to do with it. This is insane. Seriously, do you even think of the wider implications of a position that you are arguing, or do you just pick the dumbest fucking stance and stick with it all the way?

And, to go further, we definitely shouldn't have any laws about drinking, smoking, driving, getting tattoos, etc. We just leave it up to the parents to make those decisions too, right? We have to trust them all to make the right decisions and don't bother making any rules or laws, right? 🤡
