Does anybody know what might have caused the ghosting on this image? It doesn't really look like a lens flair and no other photos on the roll had any light bleed or anything unusual.
Yep. Had the NDP been more popular we would likely have a Conservative government under Poilievre right now. We have a split vote on the left which makes strategic voting an unfortunate necessity.
Ideally it would be free for everybody, but this seems like a good idea, at least as a test project.
Driving is so easy and convenient, there needs to be a pretty big incentive to get people out of their cars voluntarily or else they're never going to do it.
People that are already taking transit know all about transit. People that are always driving usually don't have any clue, so of course you want to cater to them specifically.
It's those right hooks that are the most likely to happen. Drivers either not paying attention or thinking they can quickly squeeze in a turn just end up cutting me off.
For the sake of anonymity, I'll let it slip that I'm also in Manitoba although outside Winnipeg.
Would you be able to speak more on what it takes to be involved with a coop? Like I guess that once the building is finished and all the residents are settled, the board is more focused on budgeting and maintenance projects?
I'm a solo homeowner but I'd gladly give up the absolute control over my own decisions to have more security in a collective.
Last year, I think it was on the War on Cars podcast, their guest was a disillusioned traffic engineer that called his entire field "a fraud discipline." Like they put absolutely no critical thought into their designs as long as they are built to the exacting code.
I'm curious to see if Build Canada Homes is going to include any kind of support for non-market or co-operative housing. I looked it up last year to see what the requirements are to secure funding from CMHC, and I found that unless you're an established developer, and/or have considerable pockets, and/or already own significant areas of empty land, it just isn't feasible to start a new housing co-op from scratch. The barrier to entry is too large.
It should be made easier for smaller co-operatives to get started with buildings under 10 units to better fit as urban infill instead of the current requirement of 32+ units which would need to get pushed to the outskirts of the city where land is cheaper and more available.
In hell you have to use a TV remote while checking the password manager app on your phone to input 32 random characters, many of which are numbers and symbols that don't appear on the main keyboard, and there's no button to unhide what you've typed so you can never get it correct on the first attempt.
It seems hit or miss. Most of my vinyl is 180 gram, I guess because it isn't the primary means of consumption for music these days, people expect to pay a little more for better quality. But I definitely have a lot of cheaper, thinner records that I bought brand new in the last few years.
Do you guys remember driving down the highway in the 90's and having your car absolutely covered in the mangled corpses of insects? To the point where wiper fluid is called bug wash?
I don't know if this is the same everywhere, but my car stays pretty clean these days.
The guy at the store said I'm the only guy he's seen pull it off.
