  • Just few decades before the book was written people were marrying girls of 12-15 years old. Perhaps society can allow themselves to judge from an anachronical standpoint and just be done with it. We still have a lot to improve, and the road is full of ... well, people like yourself. Defending what they believe is correct while ignoring other facts..

  • Bingo! (:

  • WE are his game

  • That's John travolta. Or not. I'm still confused.

  • Ah, you got me on the nostrils. Alright..

My point was that the discussion is silly/ absurd/ meaningless. Yet here I am... Caught in it.

So... Ears. Those have a membrane (so the air pressure inside transmits the sound to small bones)... I was considering that given a (healthy) membrane the hole is just a cavity. Bt then, the other side does have air. No idea how does it go in and out. But scuba or free divers do compensate the pressure on the other side of the membrane when descending... So the air in there goes in and out of the body in seconds. Might be connected to... Nostrils? Haha. My best guesstimate.

    Fuck this game xD

  • Urethra doesn't go anywhere either except for bladder, then nephrons (kidneys)...

Something similar applies to ears, right? And nose... But,

Also, what about the pores in my skin? :O

  • How about Qubes? if you have the specs, you get sandboxes (VMs) and all distros are available into 1. Heck, you can even have windows VMs...

And if you don't have the specs, just use any linux and install distrobox (docker) !

  • To each its own in accordance to their needs. Debian is great unless you want to add proprietary stuff like GPUs. That's the whole reason so many distros (e.g. Ubuntu) raised to fame and gained popularity while being based on Debian... That, and the fact that until recently Debian installation guide was not updated and called to download an ISO to be burned in 1-2 CDs... that was so f*ing unclear. Of course you can use a pendrive, but if the guide talks about CDs... that's just confusing to newbies. None pointed that out, but to me is like being even less friendly than Arch :P Just my opinion. That said, I have been using Debian based distros for most of my time, even today (desktop PC with MX 'ahs'.)

  • On a gaming laptop I'm using Aurora because KDE Plasma btw (:

  • it could also be because I mentioned oracle :P

  • What about a pickpocket that stole a stupid iPhone from a rich teen who would get a new one the very next day? And, in some less frequent cases, the pickpocket may have had actual needs like buying medicine..

That's the reason we have a judicial system. Not even police are supposed to do harm, only prevent harm and bring into justice system.

I know the system has many flaws. That's beyond the point. Those who prefer to go vigilante are calling for making it worse. Specially if we take into account the effects of inequality on a hands-on self-service judicial approach...

  • Come back! You dirty liar!!

Haha. This thread was priceless. I thought you were about to recommend playing 4k games connecting the deck to a TV... No idea if it's posible, it should... Anyway...

  • So much words in this thread... Head over bazzite.gg and get f*ing started! You will love it!!

  • Omg, this turned out to be a thread with plenty explanations to USians that societies have laws, police, judges...

You can blame the orange guy all you want, but your culture is completely derailed. Murder (under whatever "reasons") can't be a national sport.

Weapon manufacturers really did a good job in the land of the free..

  • That's awful, it means I would get my photo id stolen hundreds of times per day, or there's also thisfacedoesntexists... and won't work. For many reasons. Not all websites require an account. And even those that do, when they ask for "personal verification" (like dating apps) have a hard time to implement just that. Most "serious" cases use human review of the photo and a video that has your face and you move in and out of an oval shape...

  • No idea. Hey Siri, please read this post and answer OP's question. Is it weird? /s

  • I had the same question. The best would be to consult a lawyer and see if there's any precedent already set.

I could imagine police could easily film the process and a video would be enough proof for any judge. The phone shows a pin entry, a reboot, and then a welcome screen just like a factory reset has been done. Right?

  • You do you, of course. But, I think that combining the approach of immutable distros to either case would be a great way to add some security. Even if nothing is ever 100% safe, this would be very robust. Or, even without an immutable distro you can do Qubes or just any sandboxing (e.g. bubblewrap) to open documents and files.

In any case, being paranoid certainly is an elegant sport. Perhaps even more than golfing (:
