  • Obviously this is not something you can base a deal on, but I think a lot of the stupid shit Trump is doing will be undone if the US ever has another election. So in four years, the deal will be overturned or renegotiated. Maybe it can even be declared void?

  • "Free world" was just the American motto, it doesn't actually mean anything. Leadership will be one of US, Russia or China. Russia seems unlikely and US displays of power don't seem to be working - my bet is on China.

  • People can weasel themselves around terms like "fascist" quite easily, because there are multiple definitions, many are very diffuse and there's a lot of disagreement around it - but ethnic cleansing to my understanding is quite simple and this is it. Can any serious political commentator pretend it's not? For example the forced removal of Poles from west Poland (annexed by USSR) after WW2 for example was not a slaughter, but is considered an act of ethnic cleansing.

  • Had missed this suggestion completely. So, the totally-not-racist-don't-be-so-sensitive-you-silly-snowflake president's solution is "how about ethnic cleansing?".

    I was recently in Bosnia and as a consequence read up on the balkan conflict, this quote (about the srebnica massacre) stuck with me:
