  • My Hispanic in-laws had to go to the states to take care of some elderly family, and they said the Spanish translations of what he's saying make him sound much smarter than what he's actually saying in English. Like they change the words, use proper grammar and the tone of voice doesn't come through the translator.

Not saying this is an excuse in any way, but I thought that was interesting.

  • There's millions of young people who are just starting to pay attention. We continue to point out the hipocrasy for them. Lest their only point of reference come from the conservatives.

  • Socksucker?

  • If it quacks like a duck...

  • 3 You know Putin would throw every possible resource into influencing that election. He's damn good at it now too

  • A 50/50 split on two candidates is literally as divided as it's possible to be.

  • America finally making good on its goal of spreading democracy around the world.

  • I use AI to extract recipes and import them into my recipe manager rather than generate them. Both from hyper SEO'd websites, and physical books (take picture with phone).

  • Ooh, this one looks promising thanks!

  • Let him down whenever, as long as he's orbited with a cannon.

  • Yeah that was my source as well. But there's some CCTV footage that appears to show the plane moving upside down much faster than taxiing speed, so seems like it was just a rumour.

  • This is completely unverified, but I heard it happened while the plane was taxiing. Just a freakishly strong crosswind picking up a light plane.

  • Because like it or not, actually paying for stuff is the only way to save journalism and by extension our democracies.

The alternative is to link shitty clickbait / AI spam. At least this way:

    1. People might be encouraged to pay for journalism.
    2. There are many ways to bypass the paywall for those who won't or can't pay.

    Please don't ban paywalls.

  • The real question is whether they'll still want in after the US is done with whatever it is they're doing to it.

  • Wow, less than a cup of coffee?

  • Fantastic game. Don't let the survival crafter label deter you. It's a love letter to half life while breaking new ground in all the right places.

  • As a non American, maybe someone can help clarify something.

My understanding is that executive orders only apply to federal agencies. So does this just mean that cafeterias in federal office buildings will need to use plastic straws? And restaurants / stores are completely unaffected by this?

  • I always thought kernel devs were smart people. I'm kind of shocked learning a new language is this big of a barrier to them.
