MJ12 Detachment Agent

  • Not the dev, just a tycoon/management games fan. An MMORPG management game sounds like a lot of fun.

There is also MMORPG Tycoon 2 (that's in 3D), but development has a strange cadence.

  • I am not a bot. 😀

Just sharing, I saw a let's play of the game and it looked cool. The concept of an MMORPG management also sounds fun (there is MMORPG Tycoon 2, but development is going at a glacial pace).

  • I find the badges on reddit (I still use it for some niche gaming communities and r/tycoon) very annoying. We want organic engagement, not a skinner box.

  • From my perspective, Digg and Reddit are the same thing. Anti-user platforms run by pro-corruption, pro-crime oligarchs (and wannabes).

I will note that Kevin Rose's previous project was an out and out scam; an NFT pump and dump.

  • Underground 2 was the best.

  • Why do you think the scores are useless? They are good starting point and/or a way to evaluate smaller indie titles that often don't get professional reviews.

  • Almost feels like an elaborate (and nerdy) satirical skit of some sort.

  • Ha! Seems like development on the TTRPG side is just as much of a mess as with VTMB.

  • The was the last console game that I've played (a few party games notwithstanding)

  • Nah, the maps were all linear and there were no multiple solutions.

It's pretty clear they made a random action RPG.

  • It's a good thing that I haven't given Paradox money since Cities: Skylines was released (solid game, but the transportation system was lacking on release).

  • Didn't know they bought out the license owner. That makes it even worse.

  • I would have held my nose with the Day1 DLC if the game was good, but nah, they transformed it into an action RPG.

It's really too bad that Paradox was the company that got the VTMB license.

  • It's almost certainly going to be complete shit (if you are looking for a roleplaying game with strong world building and well written characters).

A mediocre action-RPG with a VTM theme. And Paradox are going to release a whole bunch of pricey DLCs while abandoning the core game and ignoring critical bugs.

I used to buy Paradox games 10+ years ago, by this point they are a European EA.

  • Played the original (but Win95) release as a kid in the 90s.

Exploration was a huge part of the maps. I remember constantly getting stuck and not being able to progress forward.

  • If I remember correctly, Linux support is planned, not sure about Linux support for demo.

  • I would say mostly planned. It was always supposed to be galactic sandbox strategy with colonization, city-building and space station stations.

  • A lot of the classical westerns were produced by Italians. Even ones with Clint Eastwood. Hence the term spaghetti Western.

Italian productions were also profilic in making Mad Max clones (post apocalyptic action) and Conan clones (sword and sandals action) in the 80s, but I am not aware of a specific name for these styles.
