  • Ah, that’s probably because Voyager has to merge requests for posts and comments and it’s a bit fragile. Lemmy v1 should solve that since it gets combined!

  • It’s a bug that will be fixed in the next release. If you paste links in the Voyager app, they should automatically unwrap.

  • This is actually a bug that the link doesn’t unwrap when you paste it into Voyager. It should be fixed in the next release.

    Edit: also if your app handles threadiverse.link links in app, you can ask them to handle vger.to links in the same way. Both services use the exact same link format so it’s no extra code.

  • Its to make it easier to share with friends that have the Voyager app. It has zero tracking.

    Otherwise if you send a lemmy.world user to a friend in a text message (for example) it'll just open in the browser (on iOS, and android by default).

    You can read more on the service: https://vger.to/ It's default I want to make the best experience for non-power users by default. You shouldn't need to know the nitty gritty about the Fediverse for why sharing a meme between friends on the Voyager app, doesn't open with the Voyager app.

    For power users, you can configure share instance in settings!

  • Yeah that’s one of the benefits of Lemmy API: it’s used for the official Lemmy UI so apps have access to the exact same data and functionality.

    On piefed the official UI has special access and the API for apps is separate. Kinda makes it a second class citizen

  • That sounds like possibly a piefed bug, if the pinned posts aren’t being returned at the top.
