I am he as you are he as you are me And we are all together

  • There’s no reason to over complicate this. Set boundaries with yourself. Set a budget, cut up your credit cards, try the envelope system, set limits to how much time you spend on social media.

  • When I see German I go to sleep. Gnite!

  • That was an interesting move by them, considering they’re seeing in real time the short term effects - when did target “rebrand”?

  • That’s why as humans it’s important to set boundaries with everything and everyone, especially yourself.

This can be used for personal development- ask ai to describe who you are (temperament, interests, dreams, weaknesses etc), test it out and if something is proven true work with it to find ways to adjust or overcome it

  • Good for him. My best years were spent not working and doing my own thing. It’s a shame that for some it only comes in retirement, while others never experience it.

  • Tokens

  • These countries try to show how nice they are with their tourism pamphlets, and exclude talking about the reality of the country. It worked on my mom - I had to convince her to not go to Saudi Arabia, she was enchanted by their beaches.

  • I have memory issues (it’s a brain issue) and struggle to do some basic things, but higher order thinking is natural for me. So ChatGPT does the things I struggle with, I review it and then use that information for my bigger goals. I got a lot done last year because of chatgpt, and rn I’m on the last leg of the project. I spent a few years trying to complete the project alone and didn’t get far because of the memory issues.

How ai is used is dependent on the user itself. Some people just don’t want to put effort like your brother, some people have disabilities or other issues that prevent them from doing bigger things they’re otherwise capable of doing.

  • Atom Heart Mother

  • Thanks for sharing. It’s fascinating how differently we all operate. I can’t do what you’re doing, even though I have high spacial visualization.

  • I wonder if one day there will be studies on multisensory aphantasia. The article mentions sound, like the inability to get a song stuck in your head, but same is true for taste, touch, smell and emotion.

One of the bigger issues is that it impacts experiential and episodic memory, which creates continuity issues. So the person is stuck having to externalize everything in order to manually integrate it. So I disagree with the article re having the same behavior as seeing people. Maybe from the outside it looks this way, but not internally.

The article says that people with that condition tend to be in technical not artistic fields, and I don’t see much of a difference. Technical fields rely on diagrams that you draw, which isn’t any different from drawing any picture. My point is that having an eye for design isn’t related to aphantasia at all.

  • Is that a pekinges? I had a mix 15 years ago, he died last year. Great pup but lots of breathing issues in the summer.

  • There’s another outage? There was one 8 or so hours ago.

  • I was so sad when mine died. It only lasted 5 or so years.

  • How hard is it for laymen people to install and use it? Are there step by step instruction available?

  • Anger does give you the energy to be proactive about the situation, but the anger needs to be contained too - otherwise you’ll blow up your life and have many regrets.

  • I was confused for 35 years, until I eventually identified the right origin/cause - growing up in a dysfunctional family. That realization started my journey.

  • They have a fixed mindset, while you described a growth mindset. They’re afraid of anyone different from them because it disrupts their hierarchy and their belief system. They’re afraid to question their beliefs too.
