  • @JubilantJaguar Yeah ... I get that a RSS feed might be useful (being Friendica I can consume that) but then I guess if I commented on a story is it better that it could be linked back - I suspect that these issues might just because of the evolving federation capabilites of Flipboard (I could be wrong) - But yeah maybe in the meantime I might find some RSS from @AssociatedPress

  • Is this one of thoses cases where a petition might be a starting point?

  • @palordrolap @brachiosaurus If they are publishing something .. it should be available to everyone. I domtnhave an issue with Meta or X taking a feed (RSS or Activitypub ) of their posts and publishong them ( like a TV or radio programme does.

  • @palordrolap @brachiosaurus They put it on their website and mention it in their communications. People and journalists sibscribe.

  • @palordrolap @rglullis @brachiosaurus But generally government officials make announcements at press conferences in government buildings with an open method for press to become acredited and attend. Sure politicians do media appearances - buts thats different - they are normally acting as an individual - effectively as a candidate.

  • @palordrolap @rglullis @brachiosaurus Government should post things in publoc places but X and Facebook arent public. They are like shopping malls - free to talk into but put restrictions around what you can do, substitute public law for.private contractual agreements and they replace public justice for their abitrary decision making about behalviour and extract costs ( data, tracking, attention sellijg & emotional manulipulation) from visitors. All of these things are bad for citizen involvement.

  • @Auster @erick I run a single / family Friendica instance - covers your Masto & Lemmy needs + more (e.g RSS ) . Uses few resources.

  • @fratermus Some time in an apartment makes you appreciate having a fixed place of abode but also reminds you of the things you enjoy on the road...

  • @AA5B @SupraMario I hear that some are coming with hoses pre-charged with gas now so you can self install?

  • @AA5B Surely a split system A/c would be more efficient?

  • @eli Thanks. Appreciate it. I have a VPN configured between the different locations and subnets I have at the moment with a bit if policy based routing to control what can access what.. I just bring the remote location back online

  • @ademir My thought was that child accounts would have contet visable to their parent(s) accounts and would optionally have follows ) / follow requests approved by parents. No posts would be public but limited to followers only

  • @walden This conversation feels like it has taken a dark turn and could be used against me in court one day ..but to be clear...houses generally dont have basements in new zealand

  • @hoppolito Oh cool. Ok. I have plenty to learn there

  • @GreenKnight23 I aggree totally but comparing their LLM to the 2.5 year old.. Its consideribly more advanced.. though it still seems to overuse words like 'why', 'when' and 'do you have $20 for this game"

  • @irmadlad I'm not saying that I am actually achieving that .. lol ..
