Expansions used to come in disk form, you know. They're not exclusively downloadable. And mods aren't always expansions. Each word contributes something different, even if they have quite a bit of overlap and are often considered synonymous these days.
UBI would also help with redistribution and make society more efficient overall.
UBI is a band-aid, not a solution. It's a way to keep a broken system working for a little bit longer until it's no longer politically expedient to help those in need. It props up capitalism in the guise of giving people a leg up.
It's selling people bootstraps so they can lift themselves up by them.
Yeah, but at that point it's not your time. You're essentially selling your life to someone else... and they're not even using it.
You say you can spend your time writing poetry or reading books... but that doesn't scratch an itch for everyone. Being stuck to a desk or other work station means your options are extremely limited. You can't go out and work on your kit-car, or practice a golf swing, or practice monologues for a one person play... or many other things that require a little more activity than being stuck in a chair for nine hours allows.
Money can get you a lot of things in life... but as yet it can not give you time back in your life.
Am I misunderstanding something or are you saying you dig into the program files every time you launch a program? I thought the OP was talking about programs not files and folder.
That would be nice, if it actually happened 🥲
