  • Yeah this is generally how low light and HDR camera modes work - by taking multiple photos and then using a technique called "Stacking" to average out noise and improve signal (useful light).

You can also just take 20-30 second exposures if your phone has a "pro" camera mode, then do the rest of the stacking with other tools. The astro mode simply does everything for you, but you get less control over the processing.

  • I just played around with contrast, saturation of each color, a bit of shadows/ blacks and exposure, a bit of dehaze filter and some noise reduction if I remember correctly.

  • Awesome! I love how phone cameras these days have dedicated astro modes, you can get really good results with some tinkering.

I downloaded the photo and pushed it a bit further in iOS free Lightroom, you can squeeze a bit more faint detail out of them, especially if your phone can save RAW format photos.

    Here:

  • It's the difference between a weapon designed to win a government contract with maximum profit margins vs a drone designed to fit a specific purpose and battlefield.

One was built by necessity, the other by committee.

  • It could happen the other way around is what I'm saying.

Ukraine demonstrating a nuclear device and a missile capable of carrying it will dramatically change how agreeable everyone becomes to negotiations lol

  • Yeah the Bayraktar was pretty amazing early on, today though ukraine is pumping out thousands of smaller drones for a fraction of the cost to cover pretty much all use cases from human targets to armored and heavily armored targets, drone to drone air defense, you name it, with the added benefit of them being basically impossible to intercept at a long range.

Still, major props to Turkiye for those, they made a huge difference in the early stages, along with Javelin missiles destroying Russian armor columns

  • Ukraine will emerge as the largest west-aligned weapons manufacturer in the world, their drone warfare and modern battlefield innovations are second to none at this point.

I remember when the war started looking at the switchblade drones on the news as this futuristic cutting edge weapon, then the first mavics with zip tied grenades and mortar shells appeared and now we have seen just insane advances in radio controlled, fiber optic controlled and completely autonomous drones, from short range to extremely long range, drone carriers, submersible drones, wheeled gun rc vehicles, it's insane.

I bet you anything that Ukraine either has or is planning a nuclear weapons program to acquire their own nukes. They have the scientific and engineering capacity, as well as the resources for it.

  • Let me guess, are we holding it wrong again?

  • Rare antitylenol groups win

  • Just in case there isn't a hell, though, we should put those arseholes in jail now, while they're still alive

  • Don't take those autism causing vaccines either, I heard the symptoms only last for about a week anyway /s

  • Which is why the proverbial canary is coughing a little, but is still alive.

TSMC announced their new gigafab in Arizona is being sped up with a 100 billion dollar investment to produce and later package the latest 2nm and A16 nodes. Taiwan is always a step ahead because it makes economic sense for it to be. If that stops being the case, then the US will take the lead and China will "Hong Kong" their way into Taiwan.

  • Unless China starts implementing the "We don't care" stance due to the ongoing trade war, which, judging by this Nvidia move, they're clearly moving towards.

China cares because they have an economic incentive to care. Once that's gone they'll switch their tune quite drastically I would assume and due to the nature of their government structure, quite rapidly, too.

  • The canary in the Taiwan coal mine is starting to cough a little.

Once China has AI parity or dominance with homegrown chips and the US can produce everything locally or in allied countries, there's little need for the current protections to remain in place.

  • Looking ahead, 53% of AOMedia members surveyed plan to adopt AV2 within 12 months upon its finalization later this year, with 88% expecting to implement it within the next two years.

From AOMedia website. So the plan is for it to have AV1 levels of adoption by 2028.

  • Yeah I mean Linux is just better

  • I'll show them mine if they show me theirs. On a serious note, encryption is just complicated math added on top of ones and zeroes. They can't really ban that, it'll only make people all the more educated in circumventing such bans and then they're fighting an encryption hydra, becoming stronger with each iteration.

  • ...then they came for me, and there was no one left to speak for me

  • Are you trying to get the entire dcip3 banned??
