  • Why has this image been upscale by AI?

    1. The Lazarus pit in the city spewing chemicals into the water supply.
    2. All the other chemicals likely in the water supply from a wide array of sources, including regular pollution and goofy shit.

Fixing contaminants to the water supply is absolutely something proper taxes should be able to solve.

  • Yep…

  • Except that every so often my graphics drivers get messed up somehow and I need to spend the afternoon debugging it. Tbf this has happened to me on Windows too, although less often.

  • If you have problems with the controller mapping to a specific game, try adding it as a “non-Steam game” to Steam so that you can use Steam Input. You can do a LOT with Steam Input.

Also I just got the GCUltimate from https://handheldlegend.com/ and I think it matches what you are looking for. You might also look at their “ProGCC”.

Basically they are Nintendo-style controllers, work great with the Switch, but also are designed to work great with PC. Charge or connect wired via USBC or connect via Bluetooth. Hall effect joysticks that won’t drift. Can also be used as a GameCube controller if you buy their USBC to GameCube cable (note that this cable only works with their controllers; it won’t convert any USBC controller to GameCube).

  • I got a (demo) for a spider man game that was pretty good for the time.

  • Just use Wolfram Alpha

  • Just use Wolfram Alpha instead

  • Smash Bros. Melee

  • This is a common rounding strategy because it doesn’t consistently overestimate like the grade school rounding strategy of always rounding up does.

  • I’ve known people who made bank just selling bottles of water outside the venue when there are concerts on campus

  • I use https://pikvm.org/

It’s a raspberry pi with a hat. Plugs into USB and HDMI to mimic a keyboard, mouse, and monitor, and you can wire it to the power button as well.

I keep mine behind a VPN for security but there are other options.

  • Software developed by government funded research is typically released open source in the US.

  • Take a look around https://www.zillow.com/us/

You can probably get a small house for 200k-300k in “middle of nowhere” parts of the US, but if you want to be in the vicinity of a big city (which is typically where most of the best paying jobs are) you will need more like 500k for a small house, and in the most popular areas (like the areas around Sam Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Washington DC, Boston, or New York City) you might need more than 1 million.

By “small house” I mean like at most 3 bed 2 bath.

Even if you are going for a 200k house, you’ll need at least 40k for the down payment.

  • That would be 0.5 million USD (20% down payment), which is about how much a house costs in many parts of the US. In the most popular areas, 1 million USD is how much a modest house costs, and you’d need at least 200k for the down payment.

  • Jellyfin simply doesn’t work as well as Plex unfortunately.
