  • That is a really interesting story! I'm sure if he were still alive he'd be very happy to hear some of his works completed.

  • I see Donald takes after his father.

  • For sure people think differently. I agree when having a discussion with someone it's important to learn how they think.

I must tell you I used to be on the right, I used to support Trump actually. Part of what made me more sympathetic to immigrants is meeting some and they told me their struggles and I gained empathy for their struggles and how difficult the system is.

  • They had a lot more in their playbook than just that. That's why it's different. Also I agree that it should happen every time regardless of who wins.

  • I hope we can still correct course. The sad part is what many would consider a prediction is more that he was observing trends already happening even back then.

  • You're right. I hope that maybe this could lead to a conversation about why putting people into camps is a bad idea. In my head I imagine starting a conversation with a conservative and they say why the FEMA camps are a bad idea then you could say how do you feel if you were put in one. Now ask how you'd think immigrants would feel when put in a camp. In reality things may not go how I imagine.

  • I'm still shocked by the people who protested Biden over Palestine. He got a ceasefire for Lebanon and worked hard to get aid to Gaza. Trump never would have done those things.

  • It's a false equivalency. We'll accept the results of a properly conducted audit. The other side is calling people and demanding that they "find" more votes.

  • I totally get what you mean! They think the cruelty is the point and it will never happen to me or my family/friends so I don't care.

  • It's so weird that conservative talk radio for many years had conspiracies about how the government will violate everyone's rights and now it's happening and they are blind to it or accepting it because they think the person doing it is on their side. Remember the FEMA camps conspiracy theory? Where are those people now?

  • Certainly an interesting statistic but one thing to keep in mind is that Elon Musk has control over the algorithm and he uses it to boost right wing causes. So even if the Twitter has an equal number of users from both sides one side is getting an unfair advantage. • I'm still shocked by the number of gay, black, latino and women votes Trump got this election. I wish they would realize that racism, sexism and homophobia are what drives Trump's most loyal and core supporters.

  • That's very wise! I wish you safety and peace and hope the only thing you'll ever need in that list is the passport to visit somewhere nice but if you do need those things I'm sure you'll be very grateful for all the preparations you did ahead of time.

  • I'm very sorry, I tried to use the search function prior to posting to make sure it wasn't already posted. I don't know if it was because I made a mistake or if it was because I searched based on the URL instead of the title but for some reason I didn't receive any results.

  • I felt that one! The more sane people we can get into office the better chances we have of survival and making it through another year. I'm really worried too but I'm going to do whatever I can to make things better.

  • I can't blame them. Use every tool you have. However one idea would be to try to funnel users to other platforms as much as possible as a part of the campaign.

  • Group think and tribalism is very powerful. I used to be a Trump supporter and I remember thinking about how women were more likely to vote for progressive candidates with the conclusion that perhaps they shouldn't be doing that. I now very deeply regret being part of that and I'm so grateful I broke free of all that nonsense. Monkey see, monkey do is very true. That's why it's important that our leaders demonstrate good behavior and set a good example for everyone.

  • He could try assembling an emergency team and also pressure Republicans and tell them what's at stake. They could hold a special meeting.
