  • Check the vote totals from 2021 to 2025. The NDP switched to Liberals and the PPC switched to the CPC. That's why the CPC won.

So, basically, the Liberals didn't switch and the NDP switched to the wrong party.

  • He needs to get Canadian news out of Postmedia's hands.

  • Well, sure. But the point was the timing of the statement. After he said that they prevented a Liberal NDP coalition, the NDP, seconds later, gained a seat, allowing a Liberal NDP coalition of 172 seats, if they chose to do so. If they did a coalition now they would have 175.

  • Yep, reading something on his phone.

  • Complete interprovincial trade by July?

  • "That's not an applause line." lol

  • He could still get his seat, technically.

  • Though I'm pretty sure that MAGA north pivoted to the CPC the same way the NDP broke for the Liberals.

  • "He's earned his right to stay as leader."Dude it's not even guaranteed that he's keeping his seat.

  • "We denied a Liberal NDP coalition."NDP immediately gains a seat, allowing coalition.

  • Well, the Greens were able to keep a seat, so there's that.

  • none of the parties (NDP included) is willing to change that.

The NDP got to form government due to vote splitting, and should the UCP split vote splitting would hand them the election again so I wouldn't be that surprised.

  • UCP has majority only thanks to FPP.

As much as I would like that to be true, the UCP got 52% of the vote last election. So even under MMP they would have got a majority government.

  • They should have kept O'Tool I suppose.

  • The ballots are hand counted and the Prime Minister is chosen by Parliament so... probably not.

  • A calculator can multiply 2887618 * 99289192 faster than you ever could. Does that make a calculator intelligent?
