  • I think steam engines are awesome. They worked amazingly well. Ended up being superior to the German car industry during WW2and helped win the war. But everyone got to admit a diesel (and especially electric) train was always going to doom the steam engine.

This says more about how great solar voltaic is than anything else.

  • That's batteries of the past. The rate of change in batteries has been so dramatic it has left people's understanding behind.

Batteries will far outlive when a ICE car would have been scrapped.

  • I doubt that. Spacex is miles ahead of the rest and they have bigger plans.

Sure they would rather have a monopoly on cheap rockets for as long as possible but they have always known people would be trying to catch them up

  • Just because you want something to be true doesn't make it so.

  • School was great. Short days, long lunch and breaks. Loads of holidays. Had an hour of exercise thrown in every few days. Loads of people to talk to. Different things to learn.

Hated certain classes and hated being a child at times.

Last couple of years of highschool was awesome. Dropped all the shit classes, people suddenly treated you better because you was a young adult had even more time off! Like fuck 3 hours of work a day was unreal. (Where is our reduced workforce efficiency gains!)

But I agree with the other guy uni was much better. More drinking, more fucking more independence. Uni was the dream.

  • I was using libre tube for a while and that broke.

What's the best link for revanced?

  • Wind turbines

  • God people are stupid and one sided on this

They were suspended for disrupting the democratic vote process.

It's not about the haka. Its about a time and a place for democratic voting policy. Democracy is paramount it's not about any one person, people or groups of people trying to intimate the vote. That happens outside. No one is complaining about doing the haka for or against anything at any other time.

But when it cones to voting you got to behave.

It is highly disorderly for members to interrupt a vote while it is being conducted. The right to cast one's vote without impediment goes to the heart of being a member of Parliament. The threshold at which an interjection during a vote may be considered a contempt is where the interruption could be considered intimidatory

Thats the wording of the report. But Lemmy is already on their wokey high horse. Minorities can do no wrong.

The fact of the matter is intimidating voting process is not okay. You are stopping democracy. If a white people acted that way there would be no outcry. The outcry is only about people not being given special treatment for being Maori, if I white person done it the result would have been fine and everyone here would say it's justified. It sounds like everyone here is racist but NZ actually made a decision not based on race.

  • Germans should be critical of Israel then.

  • Big emitters have been dropping co2 emissions for decades.

India has way more solar potential. It's a joke they aren't doing better.

  • So many people talk about doing this but few actually do.

I've done something similar involving working holidays. I'm tired now and Covid fucked up my plans and my career is going to be hell to get back into, but I want to change anyway. Just hope I got enough experience and education and brains to climb up the ladder, I just don't know where yet.

I'm glad I did it but it isn't for most.

  • No what you don't understand is women are completely powerless and must be protected at all cost. They can't be responsible for their own decisions. If a (female) adult wants to date another adult then it must be okayed by other people that have nothing to do with the situation. Otherwise everyone needs to step in and protect them.

I think people refer to it as equality.

  • Toyota has done everything they can to slow down EV's. Does that mean they are fully off the hydrogen and nothing is good but a hybrid train?

They could have been a front runner but fucked it up.

  • Agree.

But why should some kids go to elite schools just based on who their parents are?

  • If you are smart and hard working enough you can get into the top units that not a problem.

But it's pretty much taken as a fact that people that go to private schools will do better than if they went to a state school.

So if you get 3xA* in state school, private school isn't much benefit.

But if you going to come out with anything less or generally a troublemaker private schools might be better for you.
