  • New technologies will sometimes need more energy. Thats hardly news. If we continue yo switch to renewables the impact will also be small. AI isnt even listed as its own point, heck it is not even listed in most energy budgets, yet it sounds like there will be no energy left for the rest, which is laughable, since it likely uses around 1% of the energy needed (its estimated at 2% for it in general)

  • Paying around 300€/MWh in germany ...

But also we have well insulated houses, so its not that bad (i think). I am paying around 100 bucks for electricity and gas for one person.

  • And all that only with massive state funding, impressive.

  • Why? This is a very real possibility.

  • Why? This is a very real possibility.

  • No, its a tone deaf joke.

  • I was looking at the link provided, as this person provided that as evidence. On that site there is not really anything leading me to believe everything from them is bs.

  • Exactly. So just disregarding it is a little quick.

  • Okay, tell me, where would i see that?

  • I don't get what you're saying, that doesn't look like this source is not credible.

  • Yeah for sure

  • What a dumb take. And I do those myself, so I know one if I see one.

  • I know that the impacts are VERY different depending where you stand, but treating someone differently because of their "race" (which scientifically doesn't even exist) is racism. There are more and less consequential forms of racism, but its all icky to me.

  • I am disgusted but not surprised.

  • Yeah, you might be right.

  • Yeah maybe they are just talking from there perspective, but its so assuming, it just strikes me the wrong way.

  • Ugh, i hate people that think only their view of the world is valid.

  • So they use the word often, because its often used by them? Pretty ass backwards, but also makes sense for sensationalist "journalism"

  • "... Only work to lower carbon emissions" But thats exactly the point, that it is high emissions now.
