  • Like the ADT signs people get off of Craigslist.

  • They handled COVID pretty well too.

  • There are definitely cheaper smartphones than that too.

  • I was about to say, "somewhat" is doing some heavy lifting here.

The mass deportation of undocumented immigrants:

    30% - Strongly support

    24% - Somewhat support

  • Tim Sweeney himself has said his 12% cut on EGS isn't sustainable on its own

  • Yup, that was when I switched off ubuntu to debian

  • Yeah I have a ts80p but it struggles with what I usually solder so I've replaced it with a pinecilV2 for mobile soldering which I've been happier with.

  • Which is a little odd to me, since I don't think it compares favorably vs either. Maybe against the ts80p because it's significantly lower wattage and more expensive than the other two.

  • My local walmart recently significantly expanded the self checkout area with the new scanners. Currently they either don't have functioning cameras or they display a gray camera icon where it normally would show a live view.

  • Stainless is extra bad at conducting heat considering it's a metal, but it's still way better than plastic. I hope they make an aluminum version at some point.

  • Until you start recognizing from elsewhere that some of the people posting American politics aren't American themselves

  • It's still visible on its host instance, I think it was pulled on the fedia.io side.

  • Dry bulb is a normal temperature reading with say a thermometer. Wet bulb is that same thermometer but it is wrapped in a wet cloth to simulate evaporation of sweat.

The purpose of wet bulb temperature measurement is to fix the dangerous temperature threshold at body temperature instead of having to adjust for humidity. So if the wet bulb temperature crosses 35C/95F you know that it is dangerous to even be outside because your sweat can't even evaporate enough to prevent you from overheating just standing in the shade.

  • What does Europe use for apparent temperature measurement then? Just humidity and not evaporation?

  • No, no, shit water, not boot water

  • So you're talking about something different from Dinckel.

  • He's referring to Elon himself, and I presume whomever else instantiated their productivity metrics.

  • Another reason for the average person: Ads eat up your data cap, they're costing you money if your carrier/isp auto charges you if you go over.
